Yoon is injured, but expected to be fine by start of season. This guy is highly rated among kickers, and has a huge leg on kickoffs, a Yoon weakness; and something Yoon stopped doing the last couple games due to leg injury. Expect Doerer to handle kickoffs as a true freshman. Good flip in a yr where we have plenty of scholarships. That came out of nowhere. Anyone from Charlotte know about this kid? We've got a pretty good one right now in Yoon who still has two years left
Maybe he will grow into a defensive lineman! If you have an extra scholarship laying around, then you might as well bring in an extra specialist.

Like how our offense suffered when "no experience" Deshon Kizer took the helm in 2015?With Kelly still as HC and a QB with virtually no game experience I wouldnt worry about kickoffs.

I think even the most negative ND fan would admit that they feel more confident in Wimbush right now than they did in week #2 of 2015 when Kizer took the field when Malik got hurt.I know that Winbush does not have game experience, but he has been here for a few years and should certainly know the system, so I think that it is more a case of does he or does he not have the physical
and mental tools? From the outside looking in, I think that he will do very well ?

Wimbush or Doerer? Some of my old frieds back in NJ, seen the kid play in HS and tell me that he is the real deal !

Wimbush has every tool in the book, except elite size (he's 6'1" at best)
He's got an absolutely cannon
(stronger arm than either of Ziare/Kizer, and probably even stronger than Golson's)
He's natural running the read-option and he has the strength to break arm-tackles (like Zaire) but has better long-speed than any of Golson, Zaire, or Kizer
As far as CFB QB's go, I would say that Wimbush is the most physically talented player that Kelly has had at ND
(though NFL scouts may not salivate over his traits the way they do over Kizer's because he's not 6'5" 250lbs....but that really doesn't matter much in a CFB spread offense)
