With Jones out, it is pretty much confirmed at this point and is being reported as such. And I hope the best for him. Stinks to see a guy that tries so hard, and has such a great heart have this happen to him.

I was thinking that they move Rochell back inside like they did in the bowl. Putting the starting line up:

SDE: Day
DT: Hays
NT: Rochell
WDE: Trumbetti (though I think Romeo starts vs Texas, and Trumbetti ends up being the starter down the road)

Jones Lisfranc injury was a difficult one to recover from. If this is a torn acl we are looking at another long recovery. Real bad luck... sucks....

From all I have read re Tillery he is a prodigy - time to find out . Kelly also said Hayes was going to be very good - time to find out . Looks like it is Hayes and Tillery's time to step in and help .

I said it before and I will say it through out the season - we will or won't make the playoff depending on OL performance and Zaire's housekeeping with the ball . If we had 10 of Golsons turnovers back we win at least 2 more games last yr - throw in the Fl St Game even with all the injuries we go 10-2 last yr if we take care of the ball .

In a year where you expect to see 10 plus wins, I don't want to see a true freshman at NT. The schedule doesn't work out for that. I can see giving him significant time in the Virginia, UMASS, and Navy games. But I want experience for Texas, Clemson, and GTech.

Kelly said that Rochell will not move inside in the base defense, but will in some packages.

My best guess:

WDE: Romeo/Trumbetti
DT: Day
NT: Cage/Tillery
SDE: Rochell

Cage and Tillery are more than capable of doing a good job at nt. Maybe not to jj level but good enough. JJ wasn't exactly an all American last year. Don't remember a year amongst the last dozen or so where the d line depth has been this good.

Cage...Tillery...Matuska. Guess Mokwuah is a longer term project. BK said he activated Elijah Taylor today. very strong dude! Next MEN in!!!

Kelly said cage and tillery will play in place of Jones . I hope Jones returns for a great senior yr , Kelly got a nice recruiting pitch in yesterday re Jones future . He said playing for ND is like acting on Broadway everyone notices - if Jones has a great senior yr he will have plenty of NFL suitors .

Nice pitch BK

Against certain teams and in certain packages you can slide rochell inside. I don't see him being an every down one though. That's no good.
