from a football perspective soley what would any of them hope to accomplish by returning to play at ND in '17

The OL clearly are not being coached to 'up' their skill levels to maximize their talents.
Kizer has to have seen what happens when more time is spent in a Kelly designed and operated offense.

And then there is the risk of injury.

Smart decision is go for the 'gold', in the NFL I would hate to see any of these kids hurt or damaged by further association with BK.

Mglinchey did not take the move to LT well. He was a detriment in the run game. If he returns they should consider moving him back to rt. Nelson should go if he gets a first round grade same with Kizer.

I wish we could get rid of shitty fans as easily as people want to get rid of coaches.

Big difference between shitty fans and realistic fans.

Just pull the handle on your trapper and with that flushing sound you'll be gone!

If they have an opportunity to go in the 1st round, I would go if I were them. This isn't because of Kelly. I would say that to any player that had a chance to make millions of dollars because the risk of injury is too great. I don't buy the statement that Harry can't coach. He is putting a lot of guys in the pros and that should/will help in recruiting.

Well dumb ass fans are something you are; we would like to rid the board of you.
so leave,? weak attempt to blame the players AGAIN

a thought about QNelson

jmo, but his choice of college team may have had huge impact on his draft standing.
Nelson is a mauler with size and agility but he is not a guy to play in a moving pocket type d scheme, nor be positioned out there 'Dancing in space'.

JMO, if he had gone to SU or tOSU or one of those teams that use the run as a means to win the game, I believe this kid would have been a huge star and border line 1st round pick (G's rarely go #1 rd.)
So, prospects really need to get it right the 1st time. Look at the 'stars' that made bad choices and floundered around in their college careers!

Nelson's football career was hurt by attending ND. His education may have benefited, but could that benefit have been gotten elswhere to make it a win win.

I bring this up because I do think the recruits and parents and agents (yea, they are on the periphery ) are already onto this mindset.

Are you familiar with the concept of "trying way too hard"?
