Nebraska has opted out of its deal to play Tennessee in a home-and-home series scheduled for 2026 and 2027 because the Huskers' football stadium will be undergoing renovations.

Do you figure it's a pretty clumsy ploy to get out of likely losses on their schedule, so they're pulling the old stadium renovations ruse? Otherwise no chance at the playoff. That would be totally in character for a Big Ten program. Compared to USC apparently contemplating ending the granddaddy of all CFB rivalries in their desperation to stay playoff relevant, that's small potatoes.
