Getting way ahead of myself here, but if Nelson and McGlinchey return in 2017, it's my belief that ND will have the best offensive line in the country and possibly one of its best offensive lines in a long, long time.

LT: Mike McGlinchey (5th)
LG: Quenton Nelson (SR)
C: Sam Mustipher (SR)
RG: Tommy Kraemer (SOPH)
RT: Alex Bars (SR)

Key Reserves
C/G: Tristen Hoge (JR)
T: Liam Einchenberg (SOPH)
T: Trey Smith or Foster Sarrell (FR)

That offensive line could have 3 first round picks and 5 players drafted in the first half of their respective drafts.

Heistand's unit has been the backbone of this team.

PS McGlinchey arrived at ND with bad intentions.

On paper they are. Chemistry is huge with the OL though. We'll have to see how they gel as a team.

Thanks IIO. How good could the unit be this season? Who do YOU think should start.

As always---appreciate your write-ups.

The big thing is getting Talent on the oline. Chemistry is the easy part---Olineman are very smart and can pick up on what they and others have to do to jell, quickly. Just takes a little time.
chemistry amongst a group is hardly easy. give me five above average guys functioning together over five great talents who are not. it's a group effort.

My prediction is that 4 out of the 5 guys I mentioned are locks to start in 2016 as well. The outlier is Kraemer, who could beat out Bivin or McGovern for the starting RG spot as a freshman, but we don't know that yet because he's not even on campus.

By year two, however, I think Kraemer will be ready to assume a starting position, if not this year.

A big part of the reason why I think they could be dominant in 2017 is that they could be returning 4-5 starters, and chemistry should no longer be an issue after playing beside one another for the entire year in 2016. JMO.

I agree but I also believe that Harry H has an advanced degree in that kind of Chemistry!
