Three games into his junior season at Nashville (Tenn.) Lipscomb Academy, quarterback Deuce Knight has left the school. Knight transferred to the program this summer and away from Lucedale (Miss.) George County.
“It was a family deal for him," Lipscomb Academy head coach Kevin Mawae told The Tennesseean. "He did everything we wanted him to do. It had nothing to do with football, it had everything to do with him wanting to be with his family.”'
Knight attended Tennessee's season opener against Virginia on Saturday. It's unclear at the moment if he'll return to the same high school in Mississippi.
Knight has been Notre Dame's primary quarterback target in the 2025 class for quite some time. The Irish have also been pursuing Bear Bachmeier in the last couple months.
