ND passing game

Holy crap! Wasn't there one year under Weis when ND was ranked last, or near last, in rushing? It seems like it would be almost impossible to do at ND. Astonishing.

I’m all good with not throwing down that field if you commit to running the football but Price/Love combing for 15 carries is Luda.
Denbrock has no clue what play to call on first down with this team to stay on schedule… so many negative or zero yard first down plays

Freeman obviously has his say on pushing the ball down the field do we might as well just run the 80s wishbone offense.

3 years in a row not throwing downfield… 3/4 qbs, 3 OCs…. One head coach
The last two portal QB's didn't have the arms for it. Leonard certainly does not. Not sure who thought he had a strong arm. Even his scouting reports both out of HS and the NFL scouting reports are that he doesn't have a strong arm.

Sam Hartman had no arm? I had zero issue with Sam Hartman. A winner IMO. Saying Hartman had no arm is simply not true.

The WR group and the OC were below average. That much is indeed true.

He's got Tressel in his DNA and that shit won't work in today's CFB...and Michigan absolutely wasn't that either. JJ vs Krenzel stop don't even reply it!(I don't mean you, certain poster) That shit won't work! If he can't/won't push the ball down the field crap continues he needs to be given a talking to by PB or be gone! For ****s sake can we have a great passing attack just ONCE?

You still have to do it for the simple fact they have 8 in the box. If Leonard can't do it put a damn QB on the field that can. This offense is high school at best! That stat is unforgivable and yet the it's ok crowd doesn't think there should be any changes? ND being last in any category after 2 weeks w/ NIU being one of the games says it all. It's why we're a joke to everyone else but, our fanbase. And that's becoming a joke to most of us w/ a pulse also.

You can do it anywhere when clearly our beloved is an equal opportunity employer,

The only coach on this staff that I'd keep is Golden.

They all suck minus AG

No we can't.

Then that means they got their man as it seems that's exactly the QB mold we cherish.
Ian Book through now...

the one common theme...

None could throw the ball down the field and most were smurfs.

130th in the FBS in pass efficiency
Tied for 130th (dead last this case) in passing touchdowns
tied for 133rd (also last) in 20-plus-yard passing plays.

Brutal!
How they are favored in any game with this offense is mind boggling.
I know they beat A&M on the road. Nice win. But it wasn’t what I would say was a great game. They could have easily lost. Through two games I can say this is not a good team. We were told all offseason this was the most talented team in years maybe decades. If that’s true , then you don’t lose at home to a team as a 28 point favorite. I watch a lot of football through the years. I don’t need an “ expert “ saying how good this is or that is. I know what I am seeing. This is not a good football team right now and the coach looks lost.

And Chase my balls F+ has ND rated 13th. This is why simply crunching numbers isn't as accurate as some believe it to be. How many times have we seen a team loaded up with all-stars and they fail to win championships. Look at the Dodgers in recent years. spending billions on the best players, but they can't win it.

I actually think Leonard might've been a good fit for the Tom Osborne Nebraska offense, in the Scott Frost role. Not that I'm advocating we change to that style of offense or anything.

He should have stayed at Duke.

F..ck the collectives. NIL sucks.
This appears to be how NIL works as it relates to the transfer portal.

1. staff identifies needs at a positions
2. Find their targets from the transfer portal
3. Inform the NIL collective of the players they targeted.
4. NIL collective allocates funds and offers for each player.

Yeah, it's a shame this is the direction of college sports.

I'd rather they just go to a pay for play model. Schools pay athletes directly. This way if a player is a bust there is no conflict of interest in benching said player.

I'd prefer just get rid of paying altogether. They get free education, and many other benefits from being on the team. Jmo.

The drop off from the bowl game in the offense is incredible . I blame Denbrook for putting in entirely new system that appears to be unmitigated disaster

ND collective paid him more.
I'm sure there were other factors in his transfer decision, too - like playing for a better team. Also, apparently his great-grandfather played at ND under Frank Leahy. So maybe he was an ND fan growing up, too.

Unfortunately that ship sailed and is never coming back.

Hey now....

Maybe we are 13th....

In the big scope of things who cares if we are 13th or 23rd.

Does it really matter if we are 13th or lower when clearly we aren't a team near the top 10, 8, and even 5.

12th makes the playoffs.

12th makes the playoffs.
Exactly my point.
If we are 13th then we are the first loser. Who cares if we are 13th or 23rd.

We are not even close to being as good as we should be.

Who cares.
The sentimental hallmark nonsense means absolutely nothing present day and you can thank the NIL.

Rudy Ruettiger is rolling over in his grave and he's not even dead.
Tradition...3rd cousin once removed playing for Rockne, the hallowed grounds, blah blah, blah...

It all means exactly zero.

Pay me, pay me big. Don't dare bench me, because...
You're paying me!

What about Leahy. Oh yeah...and my great pappy played for Leahy. That means so much alright....only after PAY ME, just don't dare bench me.

Yea, and Montana's kids came to ND, and neither started and transferred out.
