Lack of coaching experience on the offensive side of the ball. First time OC, downgrade at OL coach. Lost Kaleb Smith.By all accounts, it seems like the offense has a really long way to go. Just from reports and interviews. Is this going to be a run heavy offense?
This is incorrect. And the offense won the scrimmage todayBy all accounts, it seems like the offense has a really long way to go. Just from reports and interviews. Is this going to be a run heavy offense?

However, didn’t I just read that the offense beat the defense in the scrimmage? We are a tough defense to score on. If we are struggling, it could be partially due to a really good defense.
a couple of good RB’s make that a prudent play call.By all accounts, it seems like the offense has a really long way to go. Just from reports and interviews. Is this going to be a run heavy offense?
Sounded like Hartman was really good in the real scrimmage last Saturday and clearly the better QB, with the offense winning the 90 play scrimmage.Where are people hearing this nonsense?
The media saw two practices.
The defense is often ahead of the offense in spring and it was not a spring where the defense dominated. It was back and forth and offense won at end of the spring... That's what you want.
A new QB, a new slot wr breaking in, te injuries, new guards on both sides, and breaking in 3 freshmen wr....
The offense will be fine
Right. But the sky is fallingSounded like Hartman was really good in the real scrimmage last Saturday and clearly the better QB, with the offense winning the 90 play scrimmage.

Freeman also stated offense played really well, with just a slight lull, but finished strong.1 outlet said that
If we see a deep safety blitz that's 5 yards away from getting to the QB when the ball is passed i'll lose my you know what. The fact we did that multiple times after ohio state was beyond stupid. The offense out performed the defense last I heard. The D has been messing around with a lot of blitz packages. I hope ots not going to be live by the blitz die by the blitz. I love a good blitz but I'm a little nervous with Golden
Schematic Defensive Advantage! If we see a deep safety blitz that's 5 yards away from getting to the QB when the ball is passed i'll lose my you know what. The fact we did that multiple times after ohio state was beyond stupid.
My other concern is linebackers getting home. I'm not sure i've seen LBs blitz more with minimal impact than last year.
Your first comment reminds me of the Jon Tenuta days. What a disaster that was.Live by the blitz, die by the blitz.
BUT it is good practice for the QBs to handle them.
These reports about offense or defense struggling or not are pretty much worthless at this time. Once Spring Practice is OVER, then it is time to assess.
Back to block for the hater. You know what's more worthless than anecdotal reports from local journos that maybe the new offense and it's new coaches are struggling?
Effin' BK-hating fans from the most peanut of peanut galleries insisting that any such reports are stupid and wrong and everything's great. That's way more worthless....
I'm sure you will see some. My read, again is that this is a chance to show one look and switch to keep qbs guessing. Dropping an end and firing the rover or cb etc.If we see a deep safety blitz that's 5 yards away from getting to the QB when the ball is passed i'll lose my you know what. Well good then. I hope it brings you a measure of happiness and contentment.....Back to block for the hater.
Yeah, i'm fine with a safety blitz, but not one from 20 yards deep that has absolute no chance. Not sure if it was scheme, coaching, or execution last year but that play flat out didn't work and hurt us a few times in important instances.I'm sure you will see some. My read, again is that this is a chance to show one look and switch to keep qbs guessing. Dropping an end and firing the rover or cb etc.
Won't know until we see it, but that was done a lot at cinci
Oh I agree. I still don't get that play call... Either the players timed it wrong or someone had to forget to drop.Yeah, i'm fine with a safety blitz, but not one from 20 yards deep that has absolute no chance. I remember a few blitzes that were LB run into the guard and stop.If we see a deep safety blitz that's 5 yards away from getting to the QB when the ball is passed i'll lose my you know what. The fact we did that multiple times after ohio state was beyond stupid.

If it wasn't better than last years offense, MF would be on the clock. That's not saying muchThe offense is going to score around 40 points per game! It will be much better than last years offense!!!!
Yep… as bad as our D was in the red zone they were oppositely great at forcing 3 and outs and giving the ball back to our offense. The d either created 3 and out or long td drive it seemedIf it wasn't better than last years offense, MF would be on the clock. That's not saying much
