Two of the kids three finalists are no longer recruiting him. For his sake I hope Miami is still an option.

The sincere hope is that this means good news regarding Demetris Robertston. One of Robertson or Kelly is a must down the stretch for this class to be considered at big time success in my opinion and as we continue to get news that Kelly is trending away from ND (with BK's in home not far off), Robertson seems like the best shot.

Some may think it's ridiculous that I'm placing the success of an entire class on landing 1 of 2 players, but ND's problem under Brian Kelly hasn't been finding quality players. The problem has been finding more Jaylon Smiths and Will Fullers to compliment each other and form a dynamic, dangerous team.

I think ND has extremely skilled pieces in this class. Most notably, Tommy Kraemer, Javon McKinley, Daelin Hayes, Khalid Kareem and Troy Pride... They need another.

I would have like Nate Johnson quite a bit. Really liked his hands and his route running. The receiver position at ND will be fine without him, however, especially if the Irish pull D-Rob.

How many scholarships can they give in this class now with the early enrollees already in and Latua leaving. We never hit our limit, unless Robertson has said he wants to be the last WR they bring in I would not be turning away anyone who wants to jump on the boat.

Be alert. Michigan never gives up....Take note...But Notre Dame does not either.....

both of them have given up actively recruiting him so that would be an incorrect statement sandgruff

More Will Fuller's? When he committed, everybody said the same, we need more Tate's/Floyd's. The kid had offers from Nova, BC, Penn St, Towson, Rutgers, Temple. He is hardly comparable to DRob at this point. We may have numerous Will Fuller types in this class. He didn't get his 4th star until very late in the process. Don't overlook Stepherson, Claypool, McKinley.

IIO was really high on Fuller when he flipped. If I remember correctly IIO thought Fuller was one of the most underrated prospects that year and from day one was pumping that dude. Thats probably explains the difference between IIO view on Fuller as a commit and the general consensus at the time.

I thought Will Fuller had a special ability to get vertical and beat coverage from the second I saw his film. When Kelly and company starting raving about him as a freshman (he was a 4 star player, btw) it only further cemented my thought thathe had a chance to be special.

D-Rob is not like Will Fuller. Not the same player. Similar speed, but that's where the comparison ends. Roberston has much more Desean Jackson or Percy Harvin in him then be does Will Fuller... Both are exceptional talents, but they do things differently. Fuller was a wide receiver all the way. D-Rob is a Jack-of-all-trades that will touch the ball and affect the game in a variety of ways.

When I said ND needs more "Will Fuller's" I'm referring to players with elite (even if raw) physical tools. Golden Tte was similar in that sense. He was a running back that everyone knew was more cut out for receiver at the next level. What wasn't in question was his speed, nor his playmaking ability.

Could Chase Claypool be Kelvin Benjamin? I hope so and I think there is a chance. But when it comes to Demetris Robertson, like Jaylon Smith, or Will Fuller, it takes you about 2 minutes of watching film to say "that kid has 'it'".

Robertson is a key contributor, if not a starter, from day 1, the other receivers (and it's a darn good receiving class) will take time to develop in the system.

I am calling it right now - stick a flag in it - and mark it ChiTown - one of the top 3 players in this class when these kids are juniors will be Julian Love, regardless of who we sign between now and NSD.

our irish don't need nate because they have really good talent coming back and plus they are trending for a bigger fish in 5 star Robertson. I don't know why Michigan would be dropping him because its not like they have a 5 star kid like Robertson wanting in there class at WR. plus our irish also have a really good shot at some big time 4 star WRs for the 2017 class

DRob will probably go beyond NLI day. He is pretty much set on getting accepted at SU.
ND is his consolation prize! not bad huh?

D-Rob would have the best of all worlds at Stanford. Hard to blame him for wanting to go there. Elite football, great weather, a coach the players love to play for, proof in McCraffrey that he'll be used properly, and among the best educations in the nation.

Hard to blame a kid for wanting to go to Stanford when you consider the entire package.

Only if you perceive that as a problem. You have the same chance to get to the NFL, modern (and currently bring upgraded facilities), better weather, a better city and surrounding area, you're surrounded in pretty girls and things to do, you're getting a borderline Ivy League education and competing in the top 10 annually. Not to mention, there is a player with a very similar skill set to yourself, that should have just won the Heisman, that you'll take over for.... But there are 30,000 less fans in the seats at your home games... Which matters to you more?

I think any non-ND homer has a hard time seeing advantage at ND in that specific scenario.
