The good news: ND returns a TON of starters and experienced backups from 2014, and will be very experienced in 2015.

The bad news: We will be virtually nonexistent at the NFL draft.

I know these things come and go, but it's always good for your school to represent well at the draft. It looks like we have 6 guys who have declared for the draft. Of those, only 1 is a lock to be drafted: Koyack. I would have thought Brindza was a late round lock, but he isn't even rated in the top 10 by Kiper. Ominous for a kicker. I think Riggs and Daniels have a shot, but certainly no lock.

Regardless, we won't hear any of these guys' names called in the first few rounds.

It'll be kinda strange. With the recruiting efforts of Weis and Kelly the past near-decade, I was getting kinda used to having at least one Domer in the conversation for a first round pick.

But, trust me...I'd rather have Day and Stanley back on the field for the Irish in the fall than in the conversation as a first round pick! :)

Koyak and Daniels draft status will depend on how they do on Pro Day. When you have 10 returning starters on defense and 9 returning starters on offense, you don't have many players even available to be drafted.

Daniels is a guy that could shoot up draft boards with a great combine. I think Riggs was good enough this year to get a lot of looks with a good combine as well.

Koyak will be gone before the third round starts and likley be the second TE picked.

Koyack will be interesting to see what happens to. I have seem evaluations putting him everywhere from #2/3 TE behind O'Leary and Funchess (depending on his classification) to #5-7. He could go as high as 3rd round and as low as the 5th round I am guessing.

Riggs was not invited to the combine. He will need to do it on ND's pro day, assuming we even have one with so few kids available.

O'Leary will drop once measured. He is 6'2", too small for an NFL TE. Expect him to go foth round on later. Koyak will rise.

Interesting. I thought he was productive enough to deserve an invite to the combine.
