ND Fans won off the field

It was generally very civil in spite of all the catholic v convict paraphernalia. They may have been a couple spats but not much.

No "may have been" about it. There was a fight. It was on video. Plus, Miami fans threw a beer bottle through the window of one of our team buses.

Too much booze flowing for a "very" civil college game atmosphere.

Miami has some low class fans at home games. No question about it. Day games are typically calm but night games draw out the drunken jerks. Some brawls with opposing fans but the vast majority are Cane fan vs Cane fan. People in the vicinity will stand up and stare until security breaks it up.

I changed season ticket location in 2010 because there were some profane morons in my section, always looking to start something. I moved one section away and 10 rows lower. It has been peaceful ever since.

Road games are somewhat preferable because there is none of that. You see the same faces on those trips time and again. Miami always has great representation at ACC road trips. I love to sit with visiting fans and discuss the game as it unfolds. Generally it is hilarious because they embrace fear and conventional wisdom toward Miami fans and are very hesitant at first. Then once they realize it's all nonsense we dissect the game and well wish at finish.

With 65K people there will always be a fight to be had. Yes, adding the booze because it's an off-campus event can be a problem.

No, there aren't always fights at games just because you have 65K people there.

I do think you're right that Miami has some classless fans. And I think that many showing up this last week were there because it was promoted as a "big event" more than any genuine devotion to Miami and probably don't reflect rank and file Miami fans.

But no, there won't always be a fight to be had when 65K people are gathered for a game. I think the way this series was promoted was part of the problem. Miami won, they sold a lot of beer, jerseys, and other Miami crap, so I'm sure from an administrative point of view, it was a marketing success and a fair trade off for a stadium brawl and a broken window.

For it looking like a 2 vs 5+ fight, the ND fans did well! The dude in the blue was not to be messed with... I think he dropped at least two guys lol. It is unfortunate that they had more fight than the entire team though...
