For many years they were 1 or 2 (interchangeable with Texas) ... it's pretty disappointing that they lost their position of being a virtual lock at the top over the years.

That's simply a matter of the SEC and Big 10 TV contracts that have started in recent years, along with each conference having it's own TV network.

Being at the top of the money list in college athletics should never be a concern of ND's.

Does the athletic department provide student-athletes with the best opportunity to get a world class education and compete with other top athletes around the country and world? If ND can answer yes, then their mission is on track.
 
listings like this have always proved that our irish don't need to be in a conference football wise but the irish haters out there that say different will never get it
