ND needs ANOTHER Win this week....on the road in Raleigh. These guys should not be taken lightly---heck no one should for the 2016 team. It is time to settle in on defense and cover & tackle well. And get a run game going on offense. and no special teams mistakes.

BEAT the wolfpack!!!
 
348, the good news is we can beat the bad news is will our D be another week improved. its a must win for kelly

Holy crap! Where is all the chest thumping from our pre season top 10 rankings? Where is all the bravado of declaring Porky's coronation as a top 5 cfb coach? After 7 years people are biting their nails over crap football teams....btw our schedule strength is tanking too....
If Porky was smart he would put on the Leprechaun outfit for this game.....that'd show some real "spirit"....

Kelly has experience now in hurricane type weather. Which means he'll definitely learn from the Clemson game last year and use that experience to the best of his abilities and lose by 3.
 
Mike Denbrock said that there will be two offensive game plans. One for no hurricane conditions and one for bad weather.

It's a true testament to our lack of development, lack of identity, failure at fundamentals, poor game planning...all round HC clusterf***.....

It's truly among the most pathetic efforts I've ever seen.

Can Porky right the ship? Can he get this team Bowl eligible? Can we make it to the Belk, Quick Lane, Camping World Independence Bowl...?

The silence from his most ardent supporters is deafening....not just here...
 
with the Carolina governor putting most of the state under emergency due to the storm does any think the game gets moved to Friday to beat the weekend storm or does it get canceled

Yeah, it doesn't look good. It could be another game in a torrential storm like last year at Clemson.

My son is at UNC - Wilmington and is probably headed home to WNC and the high ground to get out of Dodge.
 
I'm a BK supporter with an asterisk and I think I'm pretty vocal about it. Not afraid to give my opinion and poke at the "80%" who want him fired asap, without a contingency plan. It's also been entertaining poking at those who want announcers, assistants, Jack S, Jack Nolan, and Clay Helton fired, if you can believe that one. No reason why, the kid just wants him fired. I can explain why I am a BK supporter with an asterisk like a grown adult, without the childish insults and nitpicking that actually detracts from any and all anti-BK discussion. I believe ND is a qualified DC away from hitting it big. I have to see steady improvement with the defense and OL as the season progresses. Then, I have to see a DC hire after the bowl game that makes sense.Finally, I have to see a team that is in the run next season, till the end. That means big game wins....Georgia, MSU, Carolina, USC, Miami, and Stanford. After 2017, things can be legitimately evaluated for 2018. The name calling and nitpicking by the "Never Kelly" crowd is good for flexing your muscles on a free message board, but it won't get BK fired.

What is the ant-BK crowd's contingency plan when they fire BK, other than "hiring" unrealistic candidates? Do they want to hire even or upgrade? If the answer is upgrade, then who? And , can ND compete with the candidate's boosters who will do everything they can to keep their guy and can ND compete with LSU and perhaps USC if and when the time comes? Check with the Urban Meyer tease on that one and yes, ND was his dream job at one point. This is not 1964 and Ara is not coming to save the day. The easier hire and the best route to success is a proven DC. Now, that's a plan.

Ara was 36-35-1 at Northwestern.......I'm guessing you wouldn't have considered him an upgrade at that time?

An upgrade from Kuharich and Devore? Yes. ND was very familiar with Ara and Ara with ND. So, you want to bring Ara out of retirement? When you fire a HC you also fire the assistants and that involves families. You don't act on this lightly. What are you so afraid of by hiring a qualified DC for next season? Why is it so important to fire BK right now when this same group had no complaints a year ago. My overview of what I have been reading on this board is a bunch of anonymous message board contributors who have never been in the position of hire or fire , who have little knowledge of the business end, and who have zero knowledge of what is actually happening behind closed doors. Ara approached ND about the job - the rest is history.

I was arguing for a real defensive coordinator last season, it was clear the NFL thing wasn't working. What's frightening is Kelly couldn't see it. That's the frustration - it wasn't Schmidt or injuries - was the wrong guy on that side of the ball.

look, there were so many poor decisions made in the past 2+ seasons. Some were obvious to all but the staff and 'blind faith fans'.

Your overview is a misguided assumption. In addition, you and many others here had zero clue as to where the power at ND resides.

Also, Mr Potato Head openly admitted he was under review....

I don't fault you for believing he's a liar.
 
Pers, the "blind faith fans" are well aware of BKs shortcomings while at ND. No one is saying he is the perfect HC by any means. I have been aggravated at the guy myself, starting with Tulsa I guess. I'm trying to think logically and not out of emotion. I've been attending games since the Kuharich days so I am well aware of the ebb and flow of this program. I don't think firing BK is wise at this conjecture. Especially without a solid replacement waiting in the bullpen. He has earned the right to hire a DC and get this thing going and I have certainly not given up on this season. What's the rush to fire a guy that no one was complaining about a year ago?

Kelly, has the rest of this season hopefully to turn this around, if not I have no problem if JS is told to let him go.

Also, when are you going to man up and state that you lied about the "corn field" exchange with perse? That was pretty pathetic by you..., but par for the course....
 
7 seasons. 5 with 4 or more losses, counting this season. 1 season with 3 losses. 1 season with Charlie's recruits, Diaco's defense, and MANY breaks with 1 loss. Pretty reliable sample size. It is, and will remain, what it is.
