I’m not surprised or bothered by the players that have opted for the portal. Frankly, I’m supportive of each on both an individual basis and team basis. The end of season interviews are obviously candid honest assessments of each individuals likelihood of starting. I didn’t expect any one of these to start, despite Rocco and Coogan starting and playing their best ND football.
That said, I am surprised and personally disappointed with Morrison’s decision to declare for the NFL. Thought it in his best interest to come back and prove he is the same talented cornerback as before his injury. Selfishly, I wanted to see Moore and Morrison play together, and that was in ND’s best interest as well. Now I’m refocused on hoping a good draft number, a good signing bonus and annual number, and a healthy successful career.

My guess is he's still likely to go in the first round. Especially if he gets the all clear from doctors regarding his hip and puts on a good showing at the combine and pro day. Corner is a desperate position of need for many teams. I would hate to see Morrison come back only to get injured again. Yes, I know that's fear talking, but you have to consider all possibilities.

I think he’s a first round guy but bet he falls to second due to size, injury. I’m interested to see what he runs in the 40. I don’t particularly care but scouts do.

IMO if he’s healthy for combine right decision if he’s not wrong decision and he’ll fall in draft

Would have been nice if Ben Mo came back, but I fully understand and support his decision. Good luck to him. I wish him well. He has been a great CB for us.

We'll be fine next year, I think. Hopefully Christian Gray will continue to develop and Leonard Moore has just been amazing.

Anyone have any idea of Moore's 40 time? He looks to me like he is a blazer, but I couldn't find his 40 time listed anywhere. Remember the tackle he made in the Louisville game where he came up from behind Tyler Shough like he had been shot out of a rocket and caused a strip fumble? Watch this tape at the 0:08-0:10 second marks. Moore is just flying.

Moore almost did the same thing against OSU. I was watching a tape of Quinshon Judkin's 70 yd run in the NCG (linked below) and the guy who posted the video was trying to say that Judkins must be fast because he made Moore run for 60-65 yds before he ran him down. But when you watch the tape closely, that doesn't tell half of the story. Judkins went through the hole in full stride toward the ND goal line. Moore had run up to the OSU line from the opposite side, and when he saw Judkins burst through on the opposite side he had to stop and reverse his direction in order to chase him down. To be able to stop and reverse direction and then track down a RB who had a full head of speed going in the opposite direction is beyond impressive.

Would be interesting to see a foot race between Moore and J. Love.

I'm guessing he got very positive feedback from the league when he requested his evaluation for his perceived draft rating. Best of luck to him.

he must have you'd think. Shocking to me if so coming off hip surgery. He wasn't himself in 2024. I'm not taking a risk on a CB first round coming off hip surgery and I haven't seen him play since it.

Well everyone says the most important things at the combine are the medical evaluations and the personal interview sessions.

Well, when playing corner in the NFL, the 40 ain't too far behind.

IMO, he needs to run well.

Deion went 4.27.

Don’t write off that chance Tucker kid. Just hope he can return to form before his ACL injury. From what I remember he was ahead of Moore on the depth chart before injury.

I agree with you as a fan. As a follower of today’s game and how kids stay 3 and go pro, I understand Morrison’s choice.
My one remaining sport pleasure - college football - has evolved to a point of testing my patience. The game has been ruined by lack of leadership Nil n portal need rules and there are few.

The things that made college football special - The value of the team concept, of playing for a school, of getting a degree- has eroded.

I personally think Morrison is a third round selection because I believe he will be injured more than normal. Just my opinion. The nfl will likely pick him end of first or second round. I’m sure he has been assured of where he would be picked n that influenced his decision

yeah, trying to think of a first rounder that had major leg surgery, didn't work out, and still went first round. I'm sure it's happened.

week one of fall practice. Tucker isn't seeing the field at ND in meaningful rotation snaps.

Everybody at CB seems to go 2-3 rounds above where they should simply due to the demand for decent warm bodies at the position in the NFL. Under Mickens and Marcus Freeman ND has been spoiled with riches at the position the last several years.

I hear you Telx but everything I read says Ben is a first round pick. Hard to risk that with another injury. He will be missed, for sure. But like Blake and Alt last years (two Juniors who started against each other in the NFL playoffs this month) I believe he is ready.

Man, it would have been a different ball game last week if we had all three in the lineup!

Yep…my fan heart talking. I try not to think about IFs, but hard not to think how different this game would have been with Morrison, Traore, Botelho, Mills, Onye, and a healthy Cross. The only logical conclusion is that Morrison received really positive feedback, but I still think he will need to show that he is 100% healthy at the combine. I absolutely hope he gets drafted in the first round. That can only help our DB recruiting, and I want this for his sake as well.

If we had Alt, Blake, Morrison, Mills, Botelho, Traore, Craig and a healthy J. Love and H. Cross playing, we beat OSU by 20 points!

But, as the saying goes, "When ifs and buts are candy and nuts, we'll all have a Merry Christmas."

Whenever fans do these "if we were healthy" hypotheticals they always seem to forget that you gotta give all the teams you played that year their full ideal/healthy roster back too.

ND had some key games this season without having to face the opposing team's #1 QB which probably inflated their defensive numbers at least a little bit.

Throughout the playoffs there were a lot of injuries and guys playing at less than 100% on every team in the league.

lol. We are talking OSU. Stop the purposeful deflection to your tired generalization. Day was quoted on air how healthy they were.

And you keep repeating this same nonsense, and avoid giving any details on other team’s injuries (though when try to use F*, your F+ posts are nothing but detailed garbage) because it’s not true. ND was by far the most banged up team in the semis.
