Just a thought:
It seemed like Kelly let Sanford run the show yesterday on offense.

What the hell do I know- but I've love to know.

It looked like Boise State 2014
North/ South power running
Swing passes to Adams
Statue of Liberty play that Dexter Williams screwed up.
A few double passes that I know weren't successful but are Boise staple plays.

Any thoughts from the coaching gurus?

The running game did look good. I don't know if that's the play calling or Adams finally feeing 100%, but it was an improvement.

The WR screen that every DB on our schedule knows how to defend wasn't a positive.

I think we spend too much time criticizing Kelly for everything that goes wrong and giving others credit for anything that goes well. Poor execution more than play calling has been the biggest challenge for our offense all year, although game scheming and some play calling has sucked for sure. Poor execution and poor coaching adjustments to the halftime adjustments of the opponents have killed us nearly every game. Our fourth qtr scoring has been anemic at best, and largely non existent. That said, it was great to see the running game show up against USC, and I can't recall a single illegal procedure call that killed a drive for a nice change. I think the biggest change was the players looked and played motivated. The play calling clearly was edgy, as in pulling out all stops and adding some new wrinkles along with trick plays, and Kelly and his staff deserve credit for opening up the offense. It shouldn't take a nothing to lose rivalry game for this to happen. I hope we're all excited next year over Adams and Williams dominant running behind an overpowering offensive line under the direction of a new HC and staff.

can we retire that throw behind the line play? never works and the downside is huge. (besides we don't have Michael Floyd anymore)

Yes please. The problem with that play is that both of the leading WR in the formation need to sustain their blocks. If either of them fails, the play results in no gain or disaster.
