The guy is an animal. He could well be the next first round OL after STanley. I am so glad our AD hired Harry H. :D

The false starts are a product of no pre season game. The communication against the Tenuta blitzes will have to be sharp this week.

Opportunities to make big plays will be there but need to be sharp pre snap.

Only 4 or 5 false starts in the first game - I suppose that isn't too bad

oh for Christ's sake, I hope this was sarcasm. They rush for over 200 yds and have little to no pressure on the QB and we're focussing on some early false start penalties in the 1st game of the year? And I agree, after Martin and Stanley ND Olinemen will get the benefit of the doubt by NFL coaches. And we've heard for awhile that McGlinchey was coming and possibly athletic enough they could use him in some tackle optional packages. I also think Nick Martin will be drafted pretty high if not the 1st rd. Not bad for a 3 star kid we flipped from Kentucky.

I'm a big fan of the O line.

Yes they need to clean up the play a little. But that's fine. Team's make their biggest growth between game 1 and 2. And I expect that will be true here also.

The O was tasked with keeping that QB safe, they understand depth charts, and they understand all it takes is one bad play for Zaire to be out on injury. They want to do their job. They just need to clean it up.

agreed. mcglinchey has huge potential. he'll learn to sink his hips better and improve his hand placement. thought nelson was pretty good. he had a few hiccups as expected. Stanley is just a beast. great, great skill set. he can easily be a top 5 pick. martin is solid. nowhere near his brother in talent but makes up for it in effort and IQ. elmer exasperates me like no other nd player in quite some time. on some plays he looks like larry allen and on others he looks like larry david. inconsistent to say the least. they'll only get better the more they play together.

Echo, Why is he so inconsistent? I remember hearing he tends to lunge. Is that what you see? I noticed Nelson whiffing a few times but he can overpower his man when he locks on.

When echo talks OLine, I listen... What did you think of Stanley's run blocking. Each time I noticed him, he didn't jump off the page to me as having a good game run blocking. Each time they light lighted his pass pro, he did block the hell out of his man. I felt the right side (and Martin) had exceptional nights in run blocking. And yes, Elmer is an enigma. It might just be that he is suceptible to getting beat inside off of the snap. But once he gets his arms on the defender, he looks really good. Gotta work on his quickness, I guess.

I was super impressed how MM broke off a double-team block to chip the unblocked corner blitz to MZ's blindside. It was just enough to make the guy miss and allow MZ to get the pass off.

honestly it may be between his ears. maybe he over thinks it. he doesn't have great feet . I never thought he should have ever played tackle. he loses his technique at times and then he gets beat. practice, practice, practice is the only solution.

Stanley is not a road grader but he has exceptional feet and tremendous fundamentals. he is a prototypical left tackle. barring injury a top 5 pick.
