Miami game will be firmly in hand midway through 3rd

I want to go this way also, but then again I had us keeping WF around 17. I do think the U will not be ready for how physical ND can be. Their QB is very streaky and can be forced into bad throws. And he can also make some great throws. Comes down to the line of scrimmage on O and D and how BW plays on the road.
 
I'm just busting Zorich's chops, but I too agree Miami is not a quick strike type offense. What they get they will earn and ND's defense matches up well imo.
 
I like your optimism, but I think this is going to be a real dogfight. If Miami's defense makes our offensive line look as slow as Georgia did, we are in big trouble. I also think Miami's quarterback can do to us what Wimbush has been doing to others.

I'll be a very happy man if I see us ripping off runs of 6-7 yards a clip in the third quarter.

Miami defense is nothing special. Nowhere near Georgias level.

That would be saying a lot, if they were. But I was very impressed with their speed and the way they bullied Virginia Tech. Maybe Virginia Tech is not so hot, but I thought Miami looked much better than I expected.

After watching Miami Saturday I thought they were very good defensively They will create some problems. Their offense played well.in that game but are pedestrian

they were good because va tech looked like they were running a high school offense.
 
Hope you are right, but it will be a close game..... only reasoning behind that is because I can't remember a time when ND didn't have a nail-biter for 2+ months!
 
Look at the opponents UM has played this season. They are an average to above average team. Nothing special about them. They are no better than NCST.
 
They might not be as good as GA on D but the emotion of this game could bring out a level of play that is close. I do wonder, though, if all this attention and spotlight could get them too Geeked up.Emotion is wonderful in football as long as it's not Viking Berserk emotion.
 
Va Tech was missing three starters on offense in that game. RB, WR and Left Tackle don't forget. Wide receiver C.J. Carroll, left tackle Yosuah Nijman and running back Steven Peoples. Not to mention the backup at LT made his first appearance after being out for 6 weeks himself. That obviously impacted their offense.
 
Im not sure how you guys think Miami is going to come out flat. Our defense is pretty dam talented and fast, its going to be a good game and probably a canes W. ND has beaten overated teams all year, USC? lol! Wake forest scored 37 on you. Your best W was an L to UG, so relax domers.

Not in those words exactly but you guys think this game will be easier than expected and I'm trying to wonder why y'all think that. Miami is probably the most athletic team you guys will play all year.

And fumbled it away several times. They had 4 turnovers iirc and Miami scored 28 points. Their defense better be good if that’s what the offense is going to give them. They also scored 24 and 25 against UNC and Georgia Tech, respectively. Seems they might top out around what 21-24 against the Irish? I think ND can handle that.

UM may be as athletic as you say but no more so than SC and look what happened to them. ND's run game is power football and it wears teams down over four quarters. ND fans have seen it in every game this year and expect to see it against UM as well.

Toledo is a MAC school

Duke has a losing record

FSU is terrible

You barley beat a NC team that ND absolutely buried.

VT was missing a ton of talent due to injury.

GT is a .500 team.

Please don't challenge our schedule! Your schedule is one of the easiest of all top 15 schools.

Keep the fake gold chains in the locker room. ND will have zero turnovers in this game.

As far as your defense goes..... you have yet to face a balanced dominating offense like you will face Saturday night. Your over muscled LBs will be gassed by the 2nd quarter.

SC is considered to be #5 in the most NFL ready players currently playing college football. Man they suck!
 
Miami reminds me of Oregon over the past few years. Good athletes and team speed but not quite all put together. In another year or two I think Miami will be there.

Dude, I totally get that you feel your team didn't get the respect they deserved around here before the game. Obviously they didn't. But its not like we hunted you down on Miami's board to talk smack.

Before tonight, there were legit questions about Miami, and we, as fans, were confident in our team. Miami did a convincing job of answering some questions tonight. Good for them.
