He was committed to ND. He decided to go to Michigan. ND always wanted him. Not sure how butt hurt Rees is about it and if he’d take him or not. He has 2 years of eligibility as a grad transfer so wherever he goes, he’ll need to feel confident he’d have 2 guaranteed years. ND would be the right school if he wants a chance to stick it to Michigan in terms of program prestige and have an honest shot at making the playoffs again. If CJ reclassified, no way ND takes McNamara imo as he’s a 2 year commitment. McNamara is well liked at Michigan and the captain voted by teammates. He led them to the playoffs and has been a leader of some high draft picks. He’s got a cocky swag that does not resonate with everyone outside the program and media. He’d be a bit of a culture shock for this current ND team. I think he’d be a really great role model for CJ, he would have 0 problem dominating Buchner, and set a precedent to the position going forward. He’s confident enough that he’d come in and take the position whether anyone liked it or not. He’d be a home run.
