With NIL you can feel free to poach anyone, any committed prospect. Bryce Underwood certainly proved that. Just pony up. I guess ND doesn't do that though. But whatever, they still make money here, it's just all on the back end I guess, unless you're a top portal QB, then you get the million dollar deal.

Quite frankly, one should have never felt bad about 'poaching' some committed prospect, even before NIL. It's just not an immoral thing to do. If you want to come to ND, and they offer you a scholarship on the eve of NSD, just go with a clean conscience. And it's just tough luck for the school you were committed to.

DIP, whatever is making life somber, I hope this too passes soon, and your life is filled with peace and happiness and optimism. That’s a big ask for many. I’m fortunate, but appreciate that a family health crisis, for example, can change things overnight. Not wanting to pry, Just wishing you the best.

Always thought the right guy could be very good at UNC and build a consistent Top 10-15 Program.

The place has the whole thing----great campus , money , facilities and most important in the world of today-----a relatively soft conference.

Brown's 2nd stint at UNC was promising but he never seemed to close the deal. IIRC we had a few shoot outs with him but won those games.

Al Golden is going to get contacted by lots of programs this year but with his age I could see him wanting to go to the NFL as a coordinator for a little more money compared to taking a HC job elsewhere having to work 100 hours/week and manage rosters year round.

No such thing. I'm guessing his agent has already heard from North Carolina. Whether he's interested is another thing. Lots of zeroes make some people reconsider. Unlikely Carolina makes a fast hire if they are truly interested in young guys at programs still in the hunt. ND flirted with Luke Fickell but he made it clear he wasn't going to entertain anything until their season was complete that year. Smart ADs send out lots of feelers. Fit is a huge component.
