Here are tonight's charms...

*** Rising 2020 Saint Johns (Mass.) wide receiver Jay Brunelle was arguably the top overall performer at today’s camp. Recruiting coordinator Brian Polian pulled Brunelle away following the event, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see him earn an offer from the Irish. While Notre Dame doesn’t have a huge need at the position, Brunelle is a high floor player that really covets a scholarship from the Irish.

*** Sticking with 2020 prospects, European cornerback Jairo Faverus was a prospect the staff really paid close attention to. I caught up with Faverus after the camp, and he told me that he has been in communication with defensive coordinator Clark Lea. Faverus is part of the same program as Notre Dame commit Alexander Ehrensberger and is a very intriguing option with such a need at the corner position.

*** Notre Dame offensive line commit Greg Crippen made his way to campus and spent a ton of time with offensive line coach Jeff Quinn. Crippen is completely locked in with the Irish as he fell in love with the program’s academics and tradition.

*** Big-time 2021 Denton Ryan (Texas) athlete Billy Bowman actually arrived in South Bend yesterday and spent the whole time on campus with his father. Bowman and his dad loved their first experience in South Bend and said that Notre Dame is very high on their list. The plan is to finish up the summer with visits to Alabama, Texas and Texas A&M before evaluating the process.

*** Fellow 2021 athlete Daylan Carnell, who also holds a Notre Dame offer, came down with an illness during the camp. This was Carnell’s fourth time on campus, so he is very familiar with everything. Notre Dame is very high on his list and might be in the pole position overall. I’m very close to putting in a FutureCast for the Ben Davis (Ind.) product.

*** Elite 2022 Buckingham Browne & Nichols (Mass.) linebacker Tyler Martin told me he had a great time at the camp and remains hopeful that a Notre Dame offer will come his way. Martin led the linebacker group during the camp and certainly caught the attention of the coaching staff. He is very high on the Irish.
