Here are tonight's Lucky Charms...

*** IF June recruiting visits are able to happen, which is completely unknown at this point, Magnolia (Texas) High offensive tackle Matthew Wykoff will be all over the country. The 6-6, 290-pounder tells me that he has three official visits already lined up: Penn State June 6; Notre Dame June 12; and USC June 20.

*** In early March, Wykoff announced a top seven list that included Arizona State, Auburn, Penn State, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and USC, and Notre Dame offering late last month catapulted the Irish into this top group. Those June visits may not happen, but it does give a glimpse into Wykoff's recruitment in terms of him being open to playing anywhere in the country and how much he's already liking Notre Dame. From what I've gathered, Notre Dame really likes this kid as a tackle and I expect the staff to continue to make him a big priority. You can click here to read my recent story on Wykoff.

*** Blairstown (N.J.) Blair Academy defensive end Aaron Armitage didn't include Notre Dame in his top five tonight, which I was surprised by. A source told me earlier in the week that head coach Brian Kelly and defensive line coach Mike Elston both had calls with Armitage earlier in the week. I put in a couple texts tonight, and I'll continue to dig to see what happened here. But I will say that the Irish are in better shape than ever to land Rhode Island pass rusher Jason Onye. I'll probably toss in a FutureCast pick in soon.

*** This typically isn't the type of nugget I'd include in Lucky Charms, but I wanted to discuss Michigan offensive line recruiting for a moment because they do have a lot of similar targets with Notre Dame (Rocco Spindler, Rayshaun Benny, Garrett Dellinger, Nolan Rucci). Apparently, the Wolverines are looking to take as many as six in the class. They already have a pair of interior guys committed in Greg Crippen and Raheem Anderson, and our Michigan Rivals website reports that another interior O-lineman, Drew Kendall, is trending towards the Wolverines as well. That would give them three interior guys, and they're still after Spindler, another guard. Maybe that's not as interesting to you guys as it is to me, but that's a heck of a lot guards in a OL class that might be 5-6 guys.
