Bjamin started a top 10 players thread. And while reading it, most of the top 10 players on the list were all on the 2011 team. Sometimes the years and rosters can start to get a little mixed up, but when you go back and look, boy was the 2011 team loaded with talent.
It featured the following guys: Floyd, H.Smith, Eifert, Teo, Z.Martin, Watt, Riddick, KLM, Blanton, Motta, Shembo, J. Gray, C. Wood, and more. And most of these guys were upperclassmen.
Looking back at the turnover issues with that squad, it's almost unbelievable. With a solid quarterback (no offense to Rees or Crist) this team should have had a legit shot at being 11-0 heading to Stanford the final game of the year for a showdown with Andrew Luck.
Perhaps some might say 2006 because of their lofty preseason ranking. But at the end of the day, their losses were to opponents that were clearly better than them. Is there a ND team that sticks out to you over the past 20 years with the "should have been much better" title?
