That's pretty shocking. Can't see that staying. I was hopeful we would be the underdog. Don't need to provide more motivation.
UGA is not Temple. They match us and are better athlete per athlete. We were weak on runs around the outside and Chubb has a ton of speed and power. Temple also has a suspect QB where UGA will not.
We are going to need several UGA mistakes. ND is certainly a top 25 team, not sure about top 10. D-line is light and both our second and 3rd levels of defense have weaknesses.
I've never been high on defensive coordinators as head coaches personally. Maybe that's our ace in the hole. Keep it close and hope for some Wimbush magic.

Good point but like I said, in general. Nick has the secret formula. You don't need student athletes, just athletes. if you have a need, go to the supplemental draft (juco).

I know everyone still likes to try to find holes and pick on the defense. They'll point out stats, but I also think it's important to look at how they played on meaningful drives (drives when the game was close). They didn't give up a touchdown until it was 28-3. Then after that TD, the offense gave the back back quickly. 2016 ND would have given up another TD there and then another to start the second half and we'd have been in a dogfight. Instead, they shut them down on both those drives. Then when the offense put them in a terrible spot on a turnover, they pushed Temple backward into a long FG which they missed. I think those are all signs of a quality defense. Maybe not our 2012 D, but we don't need our 2012 D with this team.
Not sure how you would know that. I am thinking that Georgia head coach would much rather have Eason starting in a night game at ND stadium rather than a kid right out of HS.
How many times over the years have teams walked into ND stadium as underdogs only to leave victors? Ritorical question. Anyone who thinks Georgia is an " underdog" is going to be in for a rude awakening. The point spread is fools gold. Believe me, Georgia has a ton of talent and will bring their A+++ game. ND also has plenty of talent and they need to bring their A+++ game. As always in game like this, turnovers are key. The point spread is for the bookies. If anything it should be a pick'em. I'm lousy at predicting. So here's to a great hard fought, clean game. Go Irish!!
