Been thinking, and this thing makes no sense.
So KR is eligible because of the classes he took at Evergreen Community College, probably a two year institution. How can those courses count for anything? ND is tough on transfer students from any schools. How does ND accept credits from a community college for a kid in his junior year?
But why does that even matter?
Williams was eligible to play when he got kicked out of school for an academic year. He now returns to school and picks up exactly where he left off. He was eligible then. How is it possible for him not to be eligible now? He has exactly the same academic standing as when he left.
If ND says he is eligible to play after serving his punishment for a violation of the ND honor code, what the hell business does the NCAA have making a separate judgement?
And how could community college classes help the junior KR more than his latest ND junior classes help the senior IW?
Yea, my kid is going to save me some money by going to Red Rocks Community College for two years then transfer into Harvard as a full fledged junior.
Hell, state legislatures have had to pass laws requiring their four year state universities to accept credits from their junior and community colleges.
And I don't hate the NCAA. I have been known to defend it. But they got some 'splainin' to do here.
