It is supposed to be that way. Players go to colleges that prepare them for the NFL. Unfortunately most schools today use that as there main selling point . For some it's a reality but for most others it's a pipe dream. ND is the total package but you obviously have to work at it in the classroom like a few other top universities. BK has done a good job in player development except the QB position. He has had his highest rated recruits either flop or transfer. That is a mystery to me. My biggest complaint with BK is he always losses a great player every year due to academics or just decide to leave / not show up. This recruiting class ON PAPER looks mediocre but in 4 years is really when it will be evaluated. ND needs to send players to the NFL every year for recruiting purposes. The truth is if you have a great team those players are going to get a shot on an NFL roster.

He inherited a boatload of talent, plus recruited top ten talent, yet loses to mediocre programs like Tulsa, navy, Pitt , northwestern etc.... He has accomplished all this while compromising ND standards.

Farley could be a late round selection with another solid season
Schmidt will get a shot if he proves to be healthy. Teams are always looking for smart, solid LBs who have heart and the ability to QB the defense.

Perse, Continually can defend himself and you two can get back to taking your shots at one another. However, I think you're way off asserting that 35 couldn't stand Continually. That seems a disservice to 35. One of the wonderful attributes of 35 was that he willingly exchanged info and thoughts with anyone if they wanted to talk ND football. He simply ignored the non football posts and those that got into rude pissing contests, etc... He frequently exchanged posts with Continually on recruiting, and they had that little game going on as to when one of them was going to deliver the next big commitment, etc...

In an article yesterday Nick Martin just complimented Longo for being the best S + C coach in the country

Purse expressed concern about Longo after spring game because a freshman was over weight

For what it's worth, I'd apply little weight (no pun intended) to what a player says about his coach.

So far Kelly has produced 8-4 type seasons . The 12-0 undefeated was beyond luck We could have easily lost 4 games .After being blown out early by Alabama ,many experts believed we didn't belong ...Alabama players on the OL and DL knew their blocking assignments . That game was lost in the 1st quarter . Kelly had no answers and our game preparation wasn't the best .

I can't believe we would lose any more than 2 games in 2015. We are supposed to be talented with,Stanley and N.Martin leading a very good offensive line. An excellent wider receiver corps in Fuller ,Robinson,Prosise ,C.Brown,Carlisle Hunter,etc..The defensive line is very experienced led by Day ,Rochell ,Jones ,Trombetti, Cage ,Hayes,OKwara ,Tillery? etc .Smith and Schmidt lead the linebackers .Then you have Russell ,Luke Shumate,Redfield ,Farley as DBs .Then there will certainly be a few freshmen who will contribute . Another 8-4 type season would be unacceptable to Domers .

No but it speaks to the strength of the argument. Not all of those players that are expected to play in the NFL are going to be able to play at the same time. If you list 10 players that play on one side of the ball as suggest that they are all NFL type guys that would suggest its almost the entire starting but if 4 of those guys aren't going to start and have limited snaps because they are behind others then that promotes depth but undermines the argument's effect when speaking to how strong a unit is.
