Keep Brian Kelly to hold fort for Urban Meyer.

I could envision Urban Meyer looking for a new challenge at South Bend to finish off his legendary career. If we are serious about winning a National Championship we give an honest effort to get the best coach in college football who happens to have ties to Notre Dame.
Tell Urban that if he needs a couple more years at Ohio State we will keep the job open for him.
Let us not settle !! The guy seems like all class to me... I never understood the Irish fans hate for him.

Do whatever you feel is needed to get Meyer to South Bend to finish his career and bring 1 or 2 NC's to South Bend!!! Unless Saban is really bored winning NC's at Bama and is looking for a new challenge. I'd rather have Saban.

No harm with wishful thinking......doesn't cost anything.

Meyer had a chance to come back to ND and allegedly declined at the last minute opting for Florida....that ship has sailed - without verbally stating it (publicly), Meyer already said (by his actions) he does not want to be ND's head coach.

ND merely has to find a head coach who can get maximum productivity out of their roster players (and not constantly play down to, or beneath the level of their competition) - if they could find such a coach, they could consistently win 9 -10 games per year and frequently be in the hunt for a playoff spot.

Urban Meyer is trash .... probably nobody keeps more garbage out of jail than him .... his record at Florida with student arrests probably leads the nation .... he can't do at ND what he does elsewhere .... one reason why he won't come to ND which is fine

He wussed out at Florida when the cards weren't stacked in his favor and then went to OSU .... why .... he only has to win one tough a game a year ... if that .... and he is in the college playoff .... OSU will bend over backwards to keep players out of jail .... and they are able to cheat easier .... nobody probably has stronger booster pipeline into players pockets than him sans Nick Saban

These guys aren't that great .... they just pay better ... young players egos are sooo big they don't care about the coach more than the $$$$ .... these guys can't do what they do on an even playing field .... that's why they are where they are

I'm sure that Bama/Saban having the #1 recruiting class every single year since 2011 has nothing to do with it. Or OSU/Meyer having the 5th, 2nd, 2nd, 7th and 4th rated classes the last 5 years.

Are they great recruiters? obviously. Do they have easier standards? uhhh, yeah, yeah they do

UND? 18th, 6th, 12th, 13th and 15th from 2012 - 2016.

You think Saban and/or Urban Liar want to come to UND and deal with what the Irish head coaches have to? Not a chance...as stated, Urban had his chance and passed.

One factor to be considered is the EGO some of the really great coaches possess. You never know. Kelly has shown us that very good players still are interested in ND, an elite coach can take that to another level. Imagine the praise a coach would get winning a title at ND. I do not think Meyer will come to ND, but the glory of such an accomplishment at ND might be a factor, esp later in ones coaching career.
