Anyone understand the psychology of needing to create multiple IDs on an anonymous message board? I mean they don't ban anyone here ever since the switch over, right?

The psychology is one of pure deceit. We have one poster, well known to all of us, who posts under multiple ID's on the same thread, in which he (a) agrees with posts he made under another ID; and (b) compliments himself on his own posts. He apparently doesn't think anyone realizes that he is doing this, although it is very easy to spot..
As for the poster at issue in this thread, he just keeps getting banned and reappears under new names. It is the only message board I know of where this is tolerated.

I believe it's due to being starved for attention. These posts essentially amount to "Hey everybody, look at me! I need attention!"

Narcissism at it's best. Some people love to hear themselves talk or type in this instance.

I have to wonder what, if anything, these people do for living.

If they actually have a job, do they go to work and brag about what they do on a message board? I can hear Pazuzu now: "Guys, you should see what I posted on the Notre Dame board. I'm so funny".
