A poster on another board made a great point. Just think if we were still in the BCS era. With Alabama #1 and Clemson #2, Notre Dame would not even have a chance to play for the National Championship. I can only imagine the screams and outrage coming from ND fans - ND beat Syracuse by 33 points at a neutral site, while Clemson only beat them by 4 points at home. ND deserves to be #2.
Notre Dame is certainly in a better spot this season than they would have been under the old BCS system or even when the poll results awarded the National Championship. The Irish have the opportunity to win the National Championship in their own hands today. Beat USC and win two games in the playoffs and the title is theirs. Sounds simple.
