I am watching my 9-1 Eagles currently, and it is very clear that Carson Wentz has "it". I see the same things in Jurkovec as I see in Carson. 6-5 athletic guys with major arm talent. This kid can be special, see his hudl.

He certainly had a big game yesterday in the playoffs!

On the day, Jurkovec completed 20 of 25 passes for 252 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also carried the ball 14 times for 120 yards and 2 more scores.

For the season, he has completed 211 of 278 attempts for 3,531 yards, 36 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He has also rushed 105 times for 1,028 yards and 19 scores.

He will flip to urban Myer

And all that talent will be wasted in South Bend..he's a gunslinger, but he'll come here and run that idiotic read option and flounder..FYI..Ron Powlus was the best QB l saw in HS in the last 30 years, and he would've been AMAZING at a place like Florida or Miami with coaches like Spurrier or Dennis Erickson..but he came here and ran the option and just died on the vine..l REALLY hope for better for this Jurkovic kid

No he won't. Did you see Haskins come off the bench yesterday? He has three years left and he is an excellent QB.

I think PJ sticks with the Irish, feeling there's an opportunity to start fairly early.

Sign me up. But check out Wimbush's HS stats before you get too deeply in love with the new QB recruit. It's the same reason why an average MLB player can go to Japan and hit 50 homers there.

Great ND qb. Saw him play in the snow squalls vs. Navy. Broke his arm if I remember right.

Bet he ditches us for a better program.

There isn't a better program. As an ND fan, you should know that. Are there better teams? At times absolutely, but not a better program. There is a reason ND is the ONLY football program with its own network deal. Why, because it can. Steve Spurrier asked the question a few years ago, why does ND get a seat at the table, they aren't in a selected conference. The answer is the same, it can. Now, I'll get off of my high horse. Sorry.

Crust was a top prep QB and so was Wimbush. Kelly likely would not have recruited RP and I’m still not sure why Holts did. McDougal was a better fit for Lou’s system.

Phil will compete for #2. BW will be the starter opening day. BW will be the starter until he's not. Irish fans has a long history of being in love with the next guy in line. I would take a long hard look at Tommy R though.

He's a western PA QB who can play.

It might take Kelly just a tad longer to ruin him but keep the faith...he'll **** that talent up too.

Notre Dame having its own network hasn’t exactly worked out well. The announcers are bad for the most part... the start times make inconvenient for many individuals when the Nite games start at 7 or 8 and you drive home at 12AM. It’s also harder on the student athlete.

You've become an idiot and a troll. No credibility on this board. I'd tell you to stop posting, but I know that your life is so boring that you need this board daily. Instead, I'll just put you on ignore.

Phil will be a great QB for ND. I predict him and BK lead us to the playoffs.

Thanks Mrs. Kelly.

Let BW try and work out his problems through Spring practice. If things aren't going so good, open up the competition in the Fall between BW, Book, Avery, and Phil.

I agree. But Wimbush has apparently looked great in practice. Just isn't big time in game. Looks like a deer in headlights at times

Lover of embarrassing football.....

You can wallow in the land of BK and mediocre football while I choose to reach a little higher than average.

Eight years, fresh coats of paint, different aisle shopping,
Excuse excuse excuse

Results for me please.

We very rarely ran the triple option offense during Powlus' time at ND. Holtz wasn't stupid.

Totally disagree. Wimbush imo did not earn the presumed starter designation going into Spring. ND needs better play from the QB position. I love Wimbush’s running ability and how he played early on, and thought he just needed game experience to improve his passing accuracy and to realize his considerable upside. But he was terrible in November and he showed poor judgment to go along with poor accuracy. It’s frustrating to see several good throws followed by several poor throws, and to read and hear how he makes all the throws in practice. It should be concerning to all of us that he exhibited these problems all season long three years into his college career. Regardless, Kelly absolutely should make it clear that there is legitimate open competition for QB this Spring.

feel free to shop somewhere else. your act is so old and tiresome. plenty of other audiences out there to laugh at your nonsense. you're obviously not reaching for anything as you continue to roost here and whine ad nauseum.

Just realized that Wimbush ended the season with less than a 50% completion rate. I don't think I've ever seen that from any starting QB at a major program.

I remember watching him at the under armor game, or whatever high school all star game he played in, looks exactly the same as today except for his size. He runs well & is highly inaccurate. By the way, he went to football specialist this past offseason to help, I forget his name but most kids wanting to make it in college and pro go to him, so you can’t merely blame Kelly and the QB coach at ND if he can’t get it together. If everyone he learns from can’t help him then it’s his ability’s that are at issue.

Funny, if you look at his highlights, they look to run many of the same formations and play scheme at ND and many other college programs. Seems to be doing ok with it there.

Perhaps if they down size the offense and his reads, that would take the "thinking" pressure off of BW and he can now play without his mind racing 100 mph. This is no great revelation, but, if the passing game does not improve, all opponents will use the Miami model of defense and force the issue. Beat us with the pass but you're not going to beat us with the run. The QB is the big question mark with the offense and they will be tested right out of the chute against Michigan.

When you see him play he seems to be undecided run? pass? They need to impress upon the kid to ‘create’. Set him up with a basic play design but with options. The kid has looked like he was playing to satisfy a play design.

And, he will come to ND; sit a couple of years; finally get a chance as a red shirt junior, and won't be able to hit the broad side of a barn, or will transfer somewhere.
Why do you even wake up in the morning with that sort of attitude?

And now that you mention this, I remember reading similar comments about a disappointing showing at this game.

I remember him being terrible in that game. And you're thinking of George whittfield I believe

I heard on the radio tonight that Phil J is among the Finalists for the Army Player of the Year award. They were saying he had a lights out season. Then, some fool calls into the show and asks why Phil would even want to come to ND. And he wouldn't shut up about it. I'm sure that guy is most likely one of our own contributors . Instead of rolling out the red carpet for a top QB who wants to come here, he's trying to argue why the kid shouldn't come to ND. I really believe that some would want the program to go down in flames because of their hatred for BK, just to prove themselves right.
