Josh Adams greatest Irish running back ever. Enjoy him while he is here.

Josh Adams was headed for 5 star status as a highschool star recruit before he suffered a bad injury which lowered his profile. He was never a 3 star unheralded player like some people say here. When he scored his first touchdown as a true freshmen against Texas I said he reminded me a lot of Eric Dickerson because of his upright running style and his speed.
If the Irish committed more to the run like we do this year and if we had Elko running the defense we would have beat Clemson and Stanford and gone to the playoffs undefeated.
With Will Fuller and Kizer connecting on TD bombs we could have had CJ Procise and Josh Adams and Dexter Williams running all day long because who is going to STACK up against the run when we got Will Fuller. And Kizer was a decent runner also if we committed more to the run. And we had Jaylon Smith and Sheldon Day and a seldom used young Nyles Morgan on defense.
Anyway, Josh Adams is a super star--it is not just the Oline. He will win the Heisman this year and lead the Irish to their first National Championship in 29 years.
I also believe he will be a superstar in the NFL. His personality reminds me of Walter Payton in that he is very humble and friendly. We may be spoiled now with all these long touchdown runs. Dexter Williams may end up being great too but who knows?
Go Irish !!
Beat Wake Forest !

I love Adams. I remember when Prosise broke the ND stadium record for a TD run (held forever by Penick and then broken by the great running Michigan QB Robinson) and about two weeks later Adams rips off a 98-yarder against, who else but Wake Forest.

But I don't think he is going to win the Heisman. People are going to see a big guy blasting through huge holes made by the offensive line and dismiss him.

Funny thing is, there were a lot of posters earlier this year dissing him, especially after the Georgia game, and complaining Williams should have been the starter. I love Williams too, but I think Adams is as good as they come.

I think Josh is an outstanding RB but best ever? That's a tough one to narrow down, there's been a bunch of outstanding Irish backs to run out of that tunnel.

I think DW would get same results if he were healthy and got similar PT.

Yes!!! And, it’s not limited to the great highlight long TD runs. He turns a lot of apparent four yard runs into nine yard gains. He’s a strong runner with deceptive slithering like moves in traffic. He deserves every good that comes his way...a pay forward kind of humble quality young man.

I don't know about that. I love #33 trucking but the best ever??? I don't think.

Eras are drastically different now. The formations of today just promote bigger numbers. Passing and running. Don't get me wrong soneone still has to tote that ball and put up the numbers but it's just so hard to compare.

Josh Adams in an old school power I does what? We don't know the answer to that. Maybe his numbers are just as big. But again we don't know that.

Ricky Watters would have gained what playing tailback on the present day team? We have no idea.

I love JA but too many variables to anoint him the best ever.
