Jerry Tillery should be thrown off the team.

Only because he is so bad at it. I met a guy who played for Navy back in the early '60s and he said Notre Dame players were as dirty as any team he played against. He said in pileups they bit, gouges eyes and twisted fingers.

We could use some thugs like the 88 and 93 teams. You have no idea what they were doing to JT all game. This is a rivalry that is filled with emotion. I don't condone it, but I want to see us with fire instead of putting on our kaki's and sweaters. The stomp was after he was pulled to the ground by that same player. Just need to channel that young player to use that during the play. He will be fine.

You think the team that beat Miami in 88 were not punching, kicking and biting then you have never played ball.

I disagree with kicking him off the team. Coach screamed and sat him on Saturday. He will talk more rationally this week and deal with it. This can't be tolerated in football. This isn't '60's football and Dick Butkus anymore. This behavior must be corrected now.

wasn't a stomp, nor was the first a kick. Though both were unsportsmanlike

WIcker isn't defending anything, but rather stating a fact. Tillery didn't kick the player, he pushed his head with his foot. He didn't stomp the player, he stepped on him. There is a difference. Having said that, both incidents are wrong and he should be punished. Being accurate isn't the same thing as defending.

If that young man had a spine. neck, other injury...
a massive lawsuit may have followed....
pathetic

Messing with the neck of an unconscious player is beyond "unsportsmanlike". I don't care whether it was a "stomp" or neck rub...it was BS.

Kizer and the ND coaches should be applauded for their reaction upon seeing that. They jumped right in to protect the USC player and to calm down their own player. My respect for the Irish actually increased over that play...you guys should be applauding that and not defending the actions of 99.

Yeah, he tried to be a jerk and couldn't even pull it off correctly. And no, that doesn't mean I condone getting anywhere close to the head of someone who has obviously just suffered a head and or neck injury.
