Just broke my heart to see that kid go down. What a freakish athlete and a true ND man. Total class and total talent. One of the best I've ever seen walk on the field for ND. I hope the best for him,

Does anyone know if he graduates this spring? I sure hope so.

Stu...not an ND alum, but still could not agree more about Jaylon's character and How he conducted himself on and off the field; a great ambassador for all that ND represents and offers. Anxious to see him on the field in the NFL, and curious to see how he will be used.

I agree 100%. Jaylon has displayed nothing but class on and off the field. Even when he got injured he was positive and smiling knowing he has a long road to recovery. In those situations the true character of a player comes out and the kid is nothing but class. I pray for a healthy recovery and the best for him no matter what he decides.

In the NFL he can be an average inside backer (which he won't be)
Or a ridiculous unblockable outside backer in a 3-4.

88nd...yep, he will play outside for sure. However, I don't see him putting a hand down and rushing the QB the way guys like Mack at Oakland and Marhews at Green Bay are used. While he is incredibly physically developed, not sure he has shown the kind of brute strength needed to play this way. His sideline to sideline lateral movement should make him an outstanding weapon against the run, and a great TE cover, etc... Will be interesting to see him cut loose.

Oh no...his had is not going on the ground. He would flourish in a Steeler type of 3-4 ...rushing MOST times ....ability to drop into coverage at times.

His frame is not of brute power like a Mack.

And he certainly would become pedestrian playing inside in the NFL. Those are grown mature MEN on the offensive line at that level.
But coming off the edge ge would give any tackle fits with his quickness.
Hopefully he can recover because I've never seen a player with as quick in the first seven yards that Jaylon has.
He won't win any 40 yard races against elite burners but Jaylon goes from zero to full speed in that first step.

bad news for Jaylon is his injury may wind up seeing him drop in the draft. how far? well I'm pretty sure the Bears at 11 would love to have him, although I could also see them being a bit wary after being snakebit by injuries with previous first rounders.

but knowing his makeup he'd be the next legendary Bears linebacker and would absolutely love life as a professional in Chicago.
