I asked Notre Dame defensive end Javontae Jean-Baptiste why he made the decision to play in the Sun Bowl. He said it was completely independent of the other players who were make their decisions to play or opt out.
“For me it was all about putting my best foot forward and leaving no stone unturned," Jean-Baptiste said. "I don’t want to say that there was anything that I didn’t do or wish I should have done. That was it. It led me to make sure that I did everything I could in my time in college.”
