It was a great win against Duke...but like I told you after ND lost to Syracuse...if any team, including Duke shoots 3-22 from 3 they will probably lose. Duke's 4 perimeter guys shot 4-32....and they lost. The 9:30 to 3:20 mark of the 2nd half of the UNC game was a pleasure to watch. That was NBA caliber ball movement....it was easy to see how well prepared this team was going into that tournament. And don't let anyone kid you...UVA losing the nite before meant nothing...ND would have beaten their behind as well...let's hope it carries over to this weekend...

Another thread dedicated to me ..... hmmmmm ..... whiners of the world unite!!!! ..... you guys should find something else to do ...... sitting around wondering where I am or what I'm doing???? ....... seriously

ND should've won by 15-20 today yet, they eked by purely because of the talent disparity.

I was mistaken on the talent level for ND, I think. It should not have been this close, and I simply can't rely on coaching to get us through further rounds.

However, Vasturia is a guy that I've seen the most progression from, from the last year to this year. Plays D, quick, rebounds, passes, and shoots with more confidence. Colson has great potential but (gulp) will need to be coached up and will hopefully get switched to the 4 next year. He is not tall enough (nor as frosh, big enough) to play the middle. Neither is Torres for that matter, but if we could see him get more minutes, he might be pretty good at the 3-4. Beacham is a guy that would benefit tremendously from good coaching...as would the ND team,,,nuf said there... Connaughton will be missed sorely next year. And Grant. They better try to get what they can this year with this talent because the best 40% of the starting line-up is leaving after this.

Losing Grant and Connaughton will hurt big time, but I believe Jackson can carry the team. He looked great today and can often times remind me of Lebron. Of course, at an apparent 6-1".

With Vasturia's continued development along with Auguste and Colson, and hopefully a few more players buried on the bench, the team can remain strong. However,it does seem the time is now.

Best look at a run since Rivers led the team in the late 80s before falling to #1 seed UNC in a tight game in the Sweet 16.

As of Friday nite there will be 32 Div 1 coaches in America saying the same thing: "I am glad we are still playing." What an asinine staement..."Shoulda won by 20." Did Roy Williams win by enough last nite? Fire his butt! I guess the guy at Iowa State and the coach at Baylor should be unemployed as well. This entire tournament is a total crapshoot...intelligent, educated basketball people(of which you aint included) like Dan Dakich, Seth Greenberg, Jay Bilas have all said the same thing, that there are about 6 teams that are at one level, 6 teams that have no shot(and 2 of them won yesterday) and about 30 teams that can get to the final weekend.....thanks for posting this...now it's clear you know nothing about coaching basketball. Thanks for clearing that up for us all.

30-5 .... ACC champs.. and now not only do you have to win, but you gotta win by 20....ridiculous... Answer us a question..what would ND's record be if you were coaching?

Wow. Feel better now, Sparky?

Just because they coach doesn't make them know the game (see Mike Brey) better than some people that never went into coaching...you (big lol) coach highschool and probably because no other teacher wanted to coach - and you probably had tenure...

Just for shits and giggles...What was your record? Guarantee it was below .500 just from the noise you post along with your flunkies here, just makes me surer than sure I would have been a better coach than you.

Tournaments are pleasant to win. You play the same 12 teams year in and out...but the dance? THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT! THAT'S WHEN YOU'RE THE BEST IN THE COUNTRY!

15 years of breyball and what does ND have to show for the dance? One sweet 16?? Two at most. That's pathetic! How many early exits 12? And I mean e a r l y...So 64 teams and for 13 years ND must average being 50th best year in and year out...and you think he's doing a good job. lol.

Of course those guys said anyone can win, dummy, because it's true.
But not with a brey-coached team. I'd be a very rich man betting you on ND games these last, painful,
15 brey years.

The question isn't wether or not you could do better than Brey ...... the question is wether or not you could do better than Grant

The article I read had Brey quoted as saying he was glad his team recognized they should keep giving Auguste the ball .... they run the team

Weis .... Slainte

Bug I remember your anti brey rants from last year. You have an un realistic view of notre dame basketball and coach brey and whom we could get. The Irish will not get 1 and done players. The odds of the Irish winning the ACC tourney are slim and none. The odds of the Irish getting beyond the field of 32 are slim. Brey must of learned how to use a chalk board this year. He took your advice.

recall you asking a question last year about what offense ND should run...you never got an answer...not surprising

Zona...saw your Cats for a whole game yesterday...really like them and your pt gd is my favorite player..McConnell?...#4...I absolutely love that kid...from PA!

I am happy for coach Brey finally getting the IRish to the sweet 16. Coaching has many facets to it especially in the college game. Coaching the players he does a good job. Due to admin we will never recruit one and done players. Duke and Kentucky will. If I were Brey the players that want playing time that are not getting PT @ kentucky I would try to get.

Jackson, Arizona is a final 4 team. They have talent. If the Irish somehow get to the elite 8 game against kentucky do the Irish realiztically have a chance

I've never said ND needs or should get one and done players .... you must be confused ..... or reaching in an effort to try and form some argument since you don't have any basis for a legitimate one .... Brey has also not learned how to use a chalkboard

I've said from day one .... this team will go as far as Grant and Connaughton can carry it .... this could not be any more true after last nights game .... Connaughton almost single handedly willed them to victory

Zona....I would love for the Irish to have that problem. If that does occur, my biggest concern, other than the fact that UK has like 8 NBA players, is that it's a one day turnaround. If ND somehow wins Fri nite( is that when they play?) you gotta turn around with only one days rest....UK is so deep it's sick, one days rest is plenty for them. Also, preparation, one day to get ready and most of that day will be spent getting legs back so the only real work you would do on the court would be to shoot and walk throughs....look, anyone can be beat and at this point of the tourney I just wanna see UK lose...I really hate this one and done bs...
