Not surprised Jim has his team juicing to win at all costs! They should checkout his STDs to make sure he left those on campus.

While an interesting sports story (not really, but...) -- but, why does it need to be on here?

Peppers has no ND history, other than he played against ND once, maybe twice.

Hmm, complaining about this post lacking relevancy is humorous considering the majority of topics here.

Not even once. Talented player, but seems like he spent a lot of time nursing injuries..

I think the reality is that the NFL teams really don't give a damn about kids smoking weed, but until it's legalized everywhere it would be politically incorrect for them to say that publicly. So they pretend to be concerned, even though they really aren't. Harder drugs, opiates, coke, etc are a totally different story.

How much water do you need to drink to "dilute" your sample?

I heard that some guys drink water before weigh-in to add weight. Do they make you fill the cup before/during/after weigh-in?

here's a truth: no Notre Dame head coach has ever returned for year 6 w/o a nationally significant victory.

and here we are year 8; and prospects are not very rosie!

aside from a few temporary ND fans, I doubt that is considered a nationally significant W. NC's and major bowls are such. Mid season teams are over/under ranked. And what did the game actualy win?

BTW: rewatch it; it was not really a 'whomping'

Then there are very very very few nationally significant wins each season, for any team.

I agree; every once in a while a reg season game is a Game of the Century.
ND vs MSU '66
Ok vs Neb '71
Tx vs Ark '69

There are no major bowls anymore. Playoff or bust.the rest is crap. The only benefit is extra practice.

you're not serious are you?
Going undefeated and to the national championship for the first time in 25 years and not a significant victory throughout the year? Stanford goal line stand? OU? USC?

We get your agenda but the-anti BK crew discounting BKs best year and attributing it to breaks and manti also lose credibility. 4-5 coaches have sustained the stability you speak of and the one you consistently compare ND to (Bama) may have the greatest coach/dynasty ever.

By your reasoning, Has your boy Harbaugh had a nationally significant win? I hood to god you say no.

Bizzy, Perse is a good guy but ignore his dark cloud. He is our lovable Joe Btfsplk. He'd piss on the pearly gates if St. Peter asked him to take an entrance exam.

^ I won't sell out for wins; wins that are not even happening. Character matters.

Shame on some for supporting the BK shananagins in the DK draft saga.
Explanations are just a continuation of the 7 year excuses.

Nothing of this surprises. For years I read how ND has a higher standard. Where is it?
USC fans were vilified for supporting the PC teams as cheaters. Well, consider the last 8 years at ND.
Fans have excused so much. Not many fans, just a half dozen on this forum. More ID's than fans.

Serious question - no malice intended, but why do you even visit or post on this board anymore?

You are clearly done with BK and rarely, if ever, offer any input other than railing on our recruiting, or lack thereof, or BK or whatever is sticking in your craw that day. Whenever somebody offers a suggestion or starts a topic, you answer with something disparaging about the state of the program or BK.

Again, why come here day after day after day just to scream from the mountain top that you dislike BK? Do you enjoy banging your head against a brick wall every day? Are you a glutton for punishment?

What is the purpose of the constant bashing? What purpose does it serve?
Seriously - I'd like to know what your thought processes are.

I for one am pretty optimistic about the 2017 season. A lot of positives I believe since the end of last season.
You've got two choices, and neither one really has any impact on the actual results. So why not be optimistic? It generally makes you feel better.

I think pessimists often are simply trying to manage their own expectations so there isn't that much chance for a steep emotional fall. If you spend the entire off season saying "ND will stink! 6-6 at best!" and then the team goes 8-4, you can be moderately pleased.
If on the other hand you are predicted 12-0 and a playoff slot, then 8-4 is horrendous.

I was a young alum in the Faust era, thought the world was coming to an end. Then you realize that life goes on pretty much the same as always, whether we are 9-3 or 3-9. It was a good era in which to gain perspective.

Ooof. I don't blame Faust for his lack of success so much as those who made the decision to hire a high school coach. Talk about being naive...

And living life as a pessimist just has to be a miserable existence. The excuse of being a "realist" doesn't shine it up at all.

Being the black cloud to rain on everyone's parade is just plain sad. IMO, it's no way to view ND Football and certainly not life in general.

Just about every pessimist finds refuge in the idea of being a "realist". The reality is that they are just pessimists.

Realistic optimism this year is 9-3 or 10-2. You have to remember that this is a 4-8 team. Calling for 12-0 is possible, but only around a 2% chance.
