It's crazy to think not all credits transferred in from Duke

Duke is an academically respected school, just odd. Wonder what classes Leonard was taking that couldn't be transferred.

My guess is there might be some classes specifically unique to Notre Dame's teachings that can't be taught anywhere else nor accepted by ND if learned at another school?

And I'm even more confused about exactly who can transfer as an undergraduate transfer. Gilman, B. Joesph, and RL were all undergraduate transfers right? Why are they allowed while many others aren't?

Maybe because they transferred from Navy, Northwestern and Duke - three excellent academic schools. So they were more likely to qualify. Undergrad transfers need to be up on their credits and on track to graduate in 4 years, in order to qualify.

Any kid who was deemed an academic fit at those schools would also have been one at ND.

That is true, however, we are discussing credits not transferred from Duke to ND. I'm curious as to what classes those were. I highly doubt Duke has basket weaving classes for credit toward graduation. I also understand there is a limit of the number of credits that can be transferred in.

I would think that Riley would do whatever necessary to get his degree from ND once the season is over. A genuine ND guy.
That’s such a cool story arc for him. A big time basketball player who turns out to be pretty darn good at football as well. Goes to a prestigious academic and basketball school (Duke) and then transfers to a prestigious academic and football school that also has religious affiliations (since he’s clearly devout). It’s a great story.

Maybe he switched majors, and some of the courses he took at Duke don't apply to his new major at ND.

ND is a small school that doesn't have A lot of program options.

Schools like USC or Michigan have a wide variety of programs so it's easier to find a compatible program that accepts transfer credit .

It's much less about the quality of school they're transferring from.

Agreed, but not only that. ND takes the courses they require first year students to take quite seriously. If an undergrad who wants to transfer to ND hadn't taken those courses at the other school, he probably wouldn't be allowed to transfer to ND. Schools like Army, Navy, Duke, Northwestern, Stanford and a very few others have similar freshman year requirements.

Why is that odd? ND is a small school. They don’t offer as many classes as a major research university like Duke. You can’t give credit for a class you don’t have.

What? Duke has less undergraduate students than Notre Dame. At least do some research before you post drivel.
Duke - 6488 undergrads
ND - 9468 undergrads
