He should have won the dam thing - period. That Kennon Reynolds was not a Heismann finalist. Embarrassment for College Football.
Completely agree absolute BS. One reason I hate ESPN.
I wish there was an alternative to ESPN . They are way to political .
I never watch ESPN except for actual games. Why anyone would watch all that other crap is beyond me.
His season stats did not warrant a Heisman, his career did but the award is for a single season. He did not belong. There were 20 other more deserving candidates based on just this one season.
ESPN might have some say as to how many guys they bring to New York, but ESPN has nothing to do with who wins the award. Does Reynolds really need to go to NY to find out he finished fifth? What does ESPN have to do with it?

Exactly, that's less than 200 yards a game and 2 tds a game from the QB position. Amazing he did that for 4 years without major injury but a single season. That's nothing special. Example. In one less start Kizer has 28 TDs and averages 100 yds more per game from the QB position than Reynolds but no one is talking about him for Heisman.Based on what? He ran for almost 1100 with 19 TD's and threw for almost 1000 with 6 TD's and 1 INT for Navy! Oh and most people aren't saying these numbers mean he should win it but he deserved an invite.
Honestly I think the Heisman is a joke these days anyway, there are always kids who deserve it more that the winner and it comes down to politics and these voters who are clueless. It has been this way for a long time, just look at the year Rocket should have won it but didn't. Also the best all around player is McCaffrey IMO though I think Henry had a great year. Still if you are not biased and look at the talent around Henry it is a joke, he has the best offensive line in the country.
What does ESPN have to do with it?
"Bar Stool Sports" is your source? Really?

I don't agree with the move ESPN made to make it harder to vote for Reynolds, but that fan vote only adds up to one real vote for the Heisman. There are another 800 or 900 individual votes by writers/commentators that comprise the selection process.
I suggest that you educate yourself. That references the fan vote. That is, the fans could vote for who they believe should win the Heisman. Whoever received the most fan votes received a single Heisman vote.
Reynolds did not lose the Heisman by a single vote. He didn't even finish in the top three. You are way off base here.

So ESPN coverage of the athletes had no impact on any of the Heisman voters really? And Bar Stool Sports is just one of many sites that has discussed it.
No offense, but this is a stupid assertion. Of course his stats will be less in numbers. He runs the option which is more akin to 15 play sustained drives and less overall possessions per game. This guy absolutely should have been considered and invited. His season stats did not warrant a Heisman, his career did but the award is for a single season. He did not belong. No not at all, I believe he should winThis thread seems like we want to give Reynolds a sort of participation trophy.
So now possessions per game are a criteria, and the fact he runs the option is a criteria? How about best player or the best season in the country is the criteria? Is Reynolds the best player in the country? Not even close. Did he have the best season in the country? Nope! In 2013 he had more yards and 39 TDs, this year he has 26 and he deserves it this year? His team also lost by a good amount in 2 games. No offense, but this is a stupid assertion. Of course his stats will be less in numbers. What was the back from Wisconsin? Ron Dane maybe. His season stats did not warrant a Heisman, his career did but the award is for a single season. He did not belong. There were 20 other more deserving candidates based on just this one season.
And do you honestly believe it goes to the best player ... Com'on man. If that were true how come its never a defensive player? A lineman? So now possessions per game are a criteria, and the fact he runs the option is a criteria? How about best player or the best season in the country is the criteria? Look, I think what he does is awesome, but Heisman, c'mon man. It's like what was said above, a "participation tropy" if you give it to him.

I thought it was Eric Beinemy who won it over Rocket?Just remember it was the "career achievement" angle that boosted Ty Detmer over Rocket
