It Looks LIke All Five of Our Early Enrollees Are Good To Go

Overall, I think the class will be fine, with the exception along the DL --

Hopefully, with a new DC coming in, that will spark interest in the new group of DL's and LB's.

We need to add some pieces on defense between now and signing day, or this class will be disappointing IMHO. Not a disaster by any stretch, but disappointing.

I think the most important thing is that these guys are off the table. When you go 4-8 you need to sweat every commitment, even the rock solid ones. These guys require no more sweat, so the others can be focused on even more.

Couldn't be. We all know that no decent recruit would want to come and play for a coach on the hot seat.

Perhaps Jaylon Smith can educate you on the importance of kelly to his recruiting...

It's obvious that at least 18 high quality players want to come and play for ND. When somebody says that the 6th or 7th rated class in the country is "terrible" then something's wrong with their thinking process. Yes we need more help at DE, safety, and LB; but this class is filled with very talented players. I wanted a new coach too; but I'm not going to drag this recruiting class through the mud because I didn't get my damn way! Avery Davis and others are working their butts off to hold this class together and I deeply appreciate their efforts. GO IRISH!!!

4 star Thomas Graham announces Friday I believe and will also EE wherever he chooses. west coast guys are thinking Nebraska but I heard that he signed his grant in aid with our irish while Kelly did his home visit a week or so ago and so I have no idea what is true and what is not these days in recruiting

Aren't we limited to 5 EEs each year? I thought that was the deal that Weis made with admissions.

I don't think signing the grant really means anything, I remember a few kids doing the same thing in years past and ended up elsewhere. I'd bet he has signed it with other schools he's considering.

Good class so far if we could add a couple quality DL and another LB it would be great.

Offensive class is excellent, especially if they add Oliver Martin to finish it off. The defensive class on the other hand, is really not very good. The top players in the class Beal, Jeter and Werner, all bailed and ND whiffed on some key pieces that they were "favoured" to land... Even if they drum up some interest prior to signing day this class will likely go down as vastly titled towards the offensive side of the ball in terms of overall talent.
