left on the schedule that really scares you ? 5 of the last 6 are ranked with Wake even getting a few votes in the coaches poll. For me i think it is Miami. I know they only have 4 games and FSU was their sig win so far, but they have only given up 1 rushing td.

NC State... Better DL than Georgia. Chubb may be the best DE in the nation. They have the 2nd best QB on ND's schedule. Samuels is an awesome playmaker.

It's also a week after ND goes for broke against USC.

Sure is...

Stanford. They worry me more than anyone else.

Why does it seem (perception anyways) that stanford always seems to play with a tad more motivation than we do in that game.

As in they want to beat us much worse than we beat them.

Sure seems like that.

Yes -- each week, that team scares me. ND needs to simply worry about who the next opponent is, come out focused and ready to play each week. They need to use the final 6 games as a series of "mini-goals" -- with the goal of winning each mini-goal -- no sense looking at the top of the mountain, when you still have a lot of climbing left to do -- accomplish the little goals, and the big one will take care if itself.

That is why i ask on a message board to fans instead of asking the team. It is just a fun question to ask on a bye week. Yes, we as fans know the the biggest game of the season is the team you play next.

Agree. NCSt QB is the real deal.

I get the feeling if we beat USC we will lose to NC State. If we lose to USC I think we get back on track with a NC State win. Not ideal prediction..

It still has to be USC.

.

Our record playing in CA is skewed because so many times our season was already shot by Tday weekend. And the ND-LSJU 'rivalry' is an artificial business decision. I'm not taking anything away from the Indians, what they have done this decade is exemplary, and many October games have been good ones. I'm saying our lads go into a tough game and often don't to appear have any emotional edge.

I'm concerned in this order 1) Miami - Road game, Talented, Excellent Coach, and they are playing with lots of confidence 2) USC - The most talented team ND plays this year outside of maybe GA. 3) NC St. Can't believe I'm saying that but they are proving it on the field 4) Stanford - They aren't as talented -Why can't we beat them!!!

Ncsu - I hope ND goes two te's and leans on them all game. This will be another game where haters hate on the play calling. Ncsu' d line is scary good but they are thin. If the defense can hold serve I think ND can break them. Play to the strengths and ncsu will buckle. The linebacker's are much weaker than Georgia. If ND can get past the first level there will be yards to be had. This is a big make up game for the OL.

If they hate on the play calling they've no clue of football.

If I hate on the play calling its because we got bored and went full blown square peg round hole. five wides empty set on first and goal. We've all seen it before.

These are the situations I loved with Holtz. He would take on anyone. Loved the challenge of playing the best every week.

I have often pondered, "What if ND's Father Hesburgh and Father Joyce had decided to hire that young coach from NC State(33-12 in 4 seasons) rather than Dan Devine or Jerry Faust?" Can you imagine what Lou could have done with Ara's or Devine's team? Lou Holtz coaching Joe Montana.

Not a single team left on the schedule scares me - ND should win every game left. What worries me most is the combined strength of the schedule left to play over a short period of time. There is no letting your guard down for the rest of the year. If ND can stay healthy and play their game that wears teams down over four quarters then ND goes 11-1, IMO.

This 2017 Irish team is just like a Great Holtz Team ! Great Oline Great running backs Great defense----If you think we can't run the table your wrong IMO. North Carolina State is not a great team. They lost to South Carolina. And Notre Dame has them at home and will not overlook them. When Notre Dame beats USC they will ride that momentum all the way into the playoffs. Stanford is not that good and now that we have Elko are defense will be ready for them. Miami got lucky against Florida State---they are not the Miami of old. Navy will be tough but we have our Triple option stuffers in Tranquill, Coney and Martini. And we have Wimbush who could score six TDs on the weak Navy defense. IMO.

Amen !!!!!!!!!!! And 4 of the last 6 games are at home !

Love the optimism. I really do.

I would be careful saying "they're not that good"

If they're not that good then our wins won't be significant.

I want them to be very very good.

I think Coach Kelly is doing a smart thing this week by spending a couple of days on defending Navy's triple option. That's the trap game on this scheduled. They run a variation of the W-bone that attacks the defenders lower legs. It also stacked between two emotionally charged road games. Miami and Stanford for payback. If I was Kelly I know that I'd want to wipe the smirk off their coaches faces. I would want to think leaving that place, I'm not going anywhere except Bowling next month and recruiting after that.

NC State scares the sh*t out of me

It's amazing how the perceptions of NC State have changed. Before the season started posters here considered NC State an easy win. It was called, "another Wake Forest" with no doubt about wins over both teams.

Now reality has set in..........NC State has one of the toughest defenses in the country, certainly 2 of the toughest DE's and their QB has turned out to be an awesome player. NC State will stuff the run, then it will be up to precision passing in order to win the game. Should be an exciting game!

Everyone says NC State's defense is outstanding. They will stuff the run.

I say they will TRY to stuff the run! They haven't seen an OL like ours nor backs like ours. It will be tough, but I think we can push them around and wear them down.

That's why games are played on the field and not on paper. Everyone studies film and game plans for their opponent. However, saying your going to do something and actually doing it are two totally different things. It's all unicorns and rainbows until you get punched in the mouth!!

No, but I highly doubt we are going 6-0 against them.

They all scare me. ND can beat all of them and lose to all of them.

Yes, ND's OL can probably wear them down, but, BW will have to be able to prove he can pass the ball effectively to prevent them from loading the box. If BW cannot get the ball downfield consistently and effectively, then it will make ND's run game more more difficult.
