Is ND at least slightly embarrassed that three of their last major coaches have all taken promotions to the SEC? Rees, Kelly, Lea -- who is next?

Brian Kelly was at Notre Dame 12 seasons. Again. 12.

Clarke Lea went from a DC to a Head Coach. At his alma mater.

Tommy Rees had been at Notre Dame 3 seasons as OC. Went to Alabama.

Hell no I am not embarrassed.

Dude, get help.

Dang, bro. I’m usually in semi agreement with your posts but this just reeks of boredom on your part. Players win games and coaches put them in position to be as successful as they can be. I’m confident ND’s staff is competent enough to win the games our talent says we should win. Nobody ND lost would have made a marked difference. Urban Meyer didn’t walk out the door, after all.

ND promotes coaches from small market P5 and G5 schools to join their staff. The SEC is treating ND like some G5 farm league for their personnel now because ND refuses to pay market rate for coaches. If ND hires a hot coach, instead of retaining him when he succeeds with aggressive raises, they let other higher status programs pick off their personnel seemingly effortlessly. Another fail. Nobody talks about it though, nobody.

ND can't retain talent despite having one of the wealthiest football programs in the country with endless fan support, tv ratings, etc.

just sick of it. sick of the incompetence, the penny pinching, etc.

sick of the lack of tenacity to invest in the product.

you want to run the football program like some military where all players are submissive to your authority -- you do you i guess.

but at the very least surround these kids with the best coaching staff money can buy and stop letting competitors poach your personnel.

This is vintage chaseball. As others have pointed out (and as we all knew), Clark Lea left ND, where he was an assistant, to be HC at his alma mater. Tommy Rees left for the chance to coach with a legend of the game, a guy who has won multiple NC's.
Despite these facts, chaseball attributes their leaving to ND's "penny pinching," which is based upon nothing but his own creation.
While chaseball says he is "sick of" the incompetence and that he "is sick" of the failure of ND to spend more money on the football team, he fails to do the obvious, i.e., go root for another school which will satisfy his urge to spend money. There are several other schools which have won NC's in the past couple decades which would fit the bill.
One wonders why anyone would continue to be a fan of a school that he castigates on almost a daily basis. He would be much happier if he would follow Tommy Rees to Alabama.

I strongly suspect his griping is simply attention-seeking behavior.

What's embarrassing is your constant "hold me---I'm in distress" posts. Grew up and act like a man.

Not in the least !

Not to diminish their professionalism and their abilities, but assistant coaches come and go as a routine part of football.

Why would you think otherwise ?

I guess Bama, Clemson and Georgia should be embarrassed that their assistant coaches left for other programs. And, adding insult to injury....left to go to inferior programs. Oh, the pain of it all.

Oh, the HUMANITY!

Yeah but once again consider the toilet the OP comes from

Chase...

The SEC will just blindly spend $$ for "hopes" of winning.

If the Big12 and or Big10 were throwing shit at the wall hoping something sticks as much as the SEC you'd see them flocking to those destinations as much or more.

4 years from now the NCAA will be a complete shell of itself. The BS NIL ..sit back and watch the volcano blow

Lea got a head coaching position. Should remove his name from that list.

Rees and BK there’s a point here. We aren’t Bama or LSU apparently.

Don't forget about Mike Elko (Lea's mentee)

There's Boo Koo Bucks in college football right now ... hundreds of millions of dollars in cash.

Wish ND had a little more of the tenacity those other rich football schools have when it comes to investing back into their product and writing blank checks for victories.

K, but they got head coaching jobs. That’s not the same thing. Would you not take a couple million more and a head job vs a coordinator position?

Kiffin left Saban for a HC job. Does that mean Bama sucks?

Kelly was a douche. He should have been gone after the 4-8 season. The only thing that saved him and turned it around was Jack putting a stop to having Kelly hire his buddies as assistants. He should be on his knees thanking Jack for giving him a chance which led to him getting the LSU job.

Rees needed to go and learn what other programs are doing. Honestly, it was a great move for Rees to be able to learn from one of the best coaches all-time. Who wouldn't take that job.
