IrishinOntario...where to watch the Georgia game in Ottawa?

Yes....for some reason I will not be hosting friends to watch this game...or even attending it in person....I will instead be in Ottawa for a soccer tournament.

I am sure by 7:30 on Saturday night I will want to escape the soccer parents and find a good place to watch the game. Staying near ByWard Market downtown...any suggestions?

Of course someone is coming to Ottawa the same weekend that I'll be in South Bend watching the game! Otherwise, I'd be happy to host you at my place where the guys and I routinely barbecue and drink beers on Gameday!

That said, there are some good sports bars in The Market where there will definitely be showing the game. Not likely to be big crowds of Irish fans, but two places I would recommend would be Real Sports Bar or Sens House... Both are right around George Street in the core of the Market and both will be easily within 5-10 minutes walking distance of your hotel. If you've ever been to the original Real Sports Bar in Toronto, next to the Air Canada Centre, it's essentially a smaller version of that. If you want a quieter environment than either of those two "big" sports bars I could give you 4 or 5 smaller bars and pubs in the area that will either be showing the game, or will put it on for you if you ask.

Let me know if there is anything I can help you with. Right now I have my fingers crossed that I won't be deployed and will zctually be at the game in September!

If for whatever reason I am going to be in town and don't end up attending, I'll let you know. You'll be more than welcome to come to my place for some beers and barbecue. I live about 10 minutes from the area you're staying in.
