the UConn girls are mugging our girls like crazy under the basket and the refs aren't calling fouls on them. if the refs aren't going call UConn for it then we could have a tough time getting buckets below the rim tonight

if stewart isn't 100% the rest of the game with this injury she just suffered then things could in our favor big time

were helping UConn win this game by missing a lot of wide open mid range jump shots but were hanging in the game

13 Turnovers and shooting less than 35 percent. They are not going to beat UCONN playing like this. Turner is almost invisible.

yeah UConn isn't beating our irish tonight as there beating themselves tonight with silly turnovers and lot of missed wide open jump shots. but were only down by 8 with turner not scoring yet so we have a shot in the second half if she can start scoring

UConn isn't playing all that great really. The TO's have just been ridiculous, and most of them are unforced. Add in some missed open shots and an airballed layup and we're creating our own bed so far. Thankfully Jewel has hit some tough shots to keep this thing somewhat close.

I hate to say but I think this game is over as our irish killing themselves with all theses wide open jump shot misses and plus all of these crazy turnovers. were giving them this game and it's driving me crazy

Ladies didn't show up tonight, way to many unforced turnovers to compete with UCONN.

Why in gods name has there not been full court pressure for the past 5 minutes? I'm lost.. You're down double digits with 5 min left and you sit on your heels.. Wow

give UConn credit but our irish just didn't show up tonight shooting wise

Too bad. ND played defense well enough to win. Far too many turnovers and missed open shots. I think they shot about 33% for the game. What a time to play your worst offensive game of the year. Second again, but lots coming back next year. UCONN graduates quite a bit.

Both teams looked tight. Lots of open looks missed. VERY scrappy defense by both teams. ND's freshman center did a great job. UConn's pint size point guard was the difference in the game. She was a whirlwind.

Congrats ND fans. Your team should be even better next year. The future looks bright.

Look the Irish are very good. Uconn is awesome! There's Uconn, then everyone else. ND doesn't have that talent across the board that the huskies have. In fact no one does.As long as Geno is the coach, more championships await. They are now the UCLA of women's college basketball. If you are an all star high school player why wouldn't you want to play for Uconn? Notre Dame was simply overmatched.

All of our starters should be returning. But uconn only loses #23 from their starting lineup. Their only other senior is #41 who got some playing time off the bench.

CoolIrish9 and I have noticed that Jewell Lloyd hasn't been shooting like she normally does for some time now. Seems to have lost her touch or something. Hope she straightens it out for next year.

Anyway … good season ladies. Hope for a better year next year.

Turnovers, passing ,? also typical UConn basketball , a run in the beginning of the second half

It has got to be Lloyd to pick it up .Turner? Well ,you can see the difference between the interior defense of South Carolina and UConn.. Turner much easier time getting the ball in the paint against SC . Plus nobody in the girls game can turn up the defense like UConn .

Lloyd really struggling ,trying to do too much . Awful game for her.A few awkward looking layup attempts . Our players look very tentative offensively ,especially players off the bench Cable ,Mabrey ,Westbeld,Huffman . Turnovers ,layups

Couldn't make the 3s .

UConn didn't have way too many weapons as our irish just simply missed a ton of wide open jump shot that they should,ve made. again give UConn credit for making some keys shots down the stretch but if you take away the horrible shooting night by our irish then UConn losses this game simply put. we'll see them next year in the final four

ND needs a dominant center who is tall to compliment the Irish guards. They need another Ruth Reilly type player if they want to win a title.

coolish:

I agree; ND played much better than I thought they could; had they made some makeable shots, they could have won this game. ND is a much better team than I had thought; they indeed should be even better next year.

I really hope the lady Irish can get back to the championship game and win. 5 years in the final 4 and 4 in the title game. It's a shame they lost all of them. I hope it hurts. Nothing like the pain of a loss to motivate for the future. Congrats on another great year! Go Irish!

Wow I love women's BB This is the first game I can remember that was poorly played. Lot of effort, just no execution. And that can be said about both teams. UConn was beatable tonight. We were flat out horrendous. We shot like 30 per cent from field. even missed chippies. Over 20 turnovers - just bad.

UConn won by 10 and that can be summed up to all the threes and wide open shots. Bad defense, bad night. UConn is the better team but they were on the menu tonight we just could not order up a W and were not good.

no they dont. they just need to make the easy bunny shots and not turn over the ball 20 times

Well as far as recruiting ,next season we have 3 very good guard recruits and that's it.In the following season 2016-2017, we are trying to recruit # 5 Tori McCoy 6'4" from Illinois and the #1 recruit Lauren Cox 6'4" from Flower Mound ,Texas . Right now I think UConn is little ahead of ND with Cox ,but that is , if Cox decides to play away from home . If she decides to play in Texas ,her list includes Baylor,Texas A&M ,Texas. Oklahoma has a 6'9" recruit ,Mulkey next season and some other good recruits.Cox would play the 4 spot .Oklahoma is definitely in the picture .

Although ,Cox's mother played for SMU,I think SMU would have to sign a lot ,a lot of top talent to surround Cox .

As far as Tori McCoy ,UConn ,Illinois ,ND seem to be the leaders .

UConn already has a commit for 2016 .Crystal Dangerfield a 5'11" guard from Tennessee .She is ranked as the # 3 player in the class . Funny thing ,you would have thought she would stay in state . What is happening to a powerhouse like Tennessee when they can't recruit an instate talent like Dangerfield , Auriemma is some salesman .

Auriemma has the # 1 player in the 2015 class ,6'3" Samuelson from Mater Dei in California . Funny thing again .Samuelson's sister plays for Stanford. Samuelson traveling 3000 miles to play for UConn?

I hope this doesn't happen ,but already UConn has Samuelson,6'3" in 2015, Dangerfield 5'11 for 2016 , If they also get Lauren Cox 6'4" and Tori McCoy 6'4" in 2016 ,it will be a long UConn dynasty.

Hoping again Tori McCoy signs with ND . Cox either signs with ND(a possibility ) or stays in Texas .Cox's parents take her to SMU games and maybe they would like her to stay in Texas so they could go to her games .Baylor is only an hour and a half from her home.

All of these recruits know that going to UConn ,they will be on a team that is always in the final four and they will win at least 1 and probably more championships before they graduate .

Colleges like ND ,Stanford , Baylor Duke ,Tennessee ,Maryland , etc. just hope to make it to final four? That's it ? Right now it's UConn and everybody else .UConn still plays in a very bad AAC conference .They sleep walk through their games .

Tennessee is no longer a powerhouse. A good program sure, but like UCLA on the men's side.

And UConn played both South Carolina and ND OOC in the regular season. I believe they will schedule any top program that is interested in signing a home and home.

Uconn also gets Natalie Butler next year, she's a 6"5 transfer from DePaul who was the Big East Freshman of the year in 2014.

Katie Lou Samuelson went to the same HS as KML and apparently has the same shooting range. Stewart, Jefferson,Tuck and Nurse will all be better. Uconn may be better next year.

To Florida Irish ,

I forgot about Natalie Butler .I also forgot about the #13 ranked player ,Natalie Chou ,a 6'0" guard ,also from Texas, In the class of 2016 .Chou 's team Plano West beat Cox's Flower Mound by 23 points .Wouldn't be surprised if Chou and Cox attend the same school..Also from Texas I forgot 6'4" Joyner Holmes who is ranked as the # 2 player in the class of 2016 .She is a also being heavily recruited by UConn .Hope the Texas girls stay in Texas.

UConn will definitely be better next year. The transfer from Georgetown will be eligible to play which is huge and the multiple freshman that played this year will only be better. I think they run the table and win it again. ND will be a lot better too so hopefully there is a rematch for the championship game.

I love to watch the ND girls, but over all ,ESPNU and some other conference TV hook ups have to broadcast girls games .Viewership and even attendance is not that great except for a few programs . There are a few teams that are going to be better ,but nowhere near what it takes to beat UConn .

our irish have the 9th rated player in the 2016 class coming in 6-2 forward erin boley from Kentucky and also from that class the 15th and soon to be top 10 rated player in guard Jackie young from here in indiana. young is such a scoring freak that she just did the unthinkable here in Indiana this past season by scoring a 1000 points in one season. only five players from here in Indiana have ever scored a 1000 points in one season in high school ball

With Lloyd leaving ,we do have 3 solid guard recruits (all rated in the top 25 )in 2015 .But they are going to need time . Plus in 2016 ,we have a commit from 6'2" forward Erin Boley the # 9 rated recruit and 5'11" guard Jackie Young the # 16 ranked player who scores a lot of points .

But we definitely need to get a few top front court players to help Turner , Reimer in the paint. . Cox,McCoy ,Holmes ? The 3 are considering ND . I hope we land one of the players

We are going to be good in 2015- 2016 ,but will really struggle to make it to another final four .We have lost a ton of talent in the last 3 years at the guard spots .Diggins, McBride, now Lloyd are gone .They were all 1st team All Americans Allen is good but not at that top level .Plus we lost an inside presence in 6'5" Achonwa .

We definitely need a lot more size to compete with UConn South Carolina and other schools with tall front courts.

A positive note ,Turner should be much better as a sophomore down low and Reimer at 6' 3 " should be a big plus next year with perfecting that mid range jumper around the paint . She really showed what she could do after sitting out for a time. ..Reimer was a top 10 player coming out of high school .rounding to form?

Westbeld 6'2" will be a sophomore ,should be a lot better . I hope she works and improves on her mid range jump shot
