Notre Dame blitzed on 16 of USC’s 45 snaps Saturday, but gave Caleb Williams more trouble with a four-man rush. ND sacked Caleb five times w/o the blitz, per PFF. Of the 29 dropbacks ND didn’t blitz, Williams was pressured 14 times and threw two picks, both while under pressure.

Ya if you can consistently pressure a team with just a 4 man rush it’s hard to get anything going. USC needed to have a generational QB to even get 20 points

The strange thing is that ND was 115th in sacks per game before USC I believe and USC was near the top of the NCAA in sacks allowed per game. I actually thought ND wouldn’t sniff him without bringing pressure for those very reasons.

I said a week before the game that the west coast was weak and we wouldn’t have trouble with USC. People said I was stupid. Well, it’s true. Anytime a good team plays a west coast team, it’s an ass beating.
