Interesting quote by BK re: Mark Helfrich

BK did an interview on yesterday's CBS Sports signing day special show. Mark Helfrich was a part of the CBS studio panel and when it was his turn to ask a question he made a joke about "I did an awful job last year too but at least you were able to keep your job," and BK came back with this:

"I tried to hire you but you are a hard guy to hire. That's why you are with those guys (CBS) now."

So, the rumors floating around that BK was looking at Helfrich seem to not only be true but it sounds like a job offer was made. That likely makes Chip Long BK's 2nd option, which isn't really a knock against Long because who wouldn't want Helfrich as their OC? It's interesting that no one else seems to have picked up on this quote.

That tells you what type of offense BK wants. He wants tempo. I like Long's two TE scheme better with the QB a cog instead of Helfrichs slot with the QB the absolute focal point. Both use tempo. Both say they emphasize running.

S&C better really improve endurance. Both offense and defense will be playing 80 to 90 plays a game I bet. Need a large rotation of players to last a game and season.
