Afternoon everyone. We've been gathering some intel on a couple Notre Dame targets over the last few days here at The Opening, and here's what we've got so far.

Enjoy.

***We’ve been forecasting four-star wide receiver Kevin Austin to Notre Dame for a long time now, and we feel just as good about that now as we always have. Austin and the people around him love what Notre Dame has to offer, and the Irish remain very high on his list. Of the four schools remaining on his list (Notre Dame, Miami, Tennessee and Duke), the Irish appear to be the school showing Austin the most love, and that has resonated within his camp. Austin has bonded with members of Notre Dame’s class, and has meshed well with a few of those guys. We still expect Austin to announce his decision before his senior season, and feel very good about where Notre Dame stands. Austin is the No. 28 receiver and No. 141 overall player in the class of 2018.

***Schertz (Texas) Clemens four-star wide receiver Tommy Bush hasn’t been able to make it to South Bend so far, but the Irish aren’t all the way out of this one yet. We’ve learned over the last few days that the Bush family likes Notre Dame, and are hoping one of Bush’s five official visits will be to South Bend come fall. We also know that Bush and his parents are big fans of wide receivers coach DelVaughn Alexander. There’s certainly ground to make up, but the Irish remain a competitor for now.
