Anybody got any info on this, something doesn't look good here...

@MFosmoe: #NotreDame police investigating a sexual assault reported to have occurred early Friday in a South Quad's men's residence hall. @SBTribune

Yes holding my breathe but if it's gen student I'm not sure why, well never mind. Big season and a week before the first game- gotta be able to keep our shit together you know?

Yep, don't dare say anything negative about Winston around here. How pathetic.

It's almost like you guys support that piece of trash, and all of the horrible things that he's done.

Cool,

That is one poster in New York and then lots of people talking about what he posted. I haven't found anything substantial. Let's hope it stays that way.

That's a lot of degrees of separation on a rumor. Seems we'd know more by now but if it were freshman, send them packing and it's like they were never here. Those would mostly be the easiest to lose. Hope whomever is ok, that's most important.

Again, I have friends at the university and in town. I haven't heard anything from them on this matter.

Has gone from

players involved

no players involved

2 players name (by people not anyone official)

1 player had an alibi at a party that night

other player wasn't in town that night

possible different players.

Will have to wait for something official to be reported.

ToS was reporting one, Reddit had others,

You can dig on the internet (I refuse to post the links here) and find the story.

That said. Keep in mind this is a college campus and unfortunately things like this happen. Regardless of the fact if there is a football player involved, there was a female involved. And as a guy with a daughter in college, I am far more interested in that, than if this affects the football program.

That said you guys will know when I do. I imagine there are about 10 reporters with 3/4 of a story waiting to type in names and hit 'post'

First of all I wish the event never happened no matter what students are involved, athlete or not.

However, IF it did with the thousands of young men on campus why does it have to be football player?

Apparently the amount of chatter and developing rumors never would be this significant if - if it was a non news worthy regular student; TOS posters are just saying if so it involves a Fr. But it is at this stage catagorized as a rumor....because it is a RUMOR. (rumors that become reality/news are called 'scoops')

Is it possible to have the Tallahassee P.D. do the investigation?

I wish to God that we would keep all things FSU out of this. This can happen at any college campus and ND is not any different then any other school.

ND is very different than most school and nearly the polar opposite of a cesspool like Tallahassee where a girl can be raped while the administration, coaching staff and local police run cover for the perpetrator.

Argusman, once again you are nothing but a cancer. When will your other usernames jump in to defend you?

Argusman? If you are addressing me am I right to assume that you think MD and FSU handle their athletes in the same fashion and that FSU does not do what I suggested?

Indiana AG sides with ESPN in appeal

In a 26-page amicus brief filed last Thursday, the state’s chief legal officer came out in support of ESPN in its appeal of an April St. Joseph Superior Court ruling that Notre Dame Security Police (NDSP) is not subject to Indiana’s public records access law.

“A police officer is perhaps the quintessential public employee, cloaked in the authority of the State to investigate, detain, arrest, incarcerate, carry and discharge a firearm, and generally maintain the safety of the citizenry,” the brief stated. “The notion that a police department exercising these core state powers can be shielded from public scrutiny by dint of its affiliation with a private university is antithetical to the important policy interests underlying the Access to Public Records Act.”

In a press release, Zoeller said his office supports the opinions handed down by Indiana Public Access Counselor Luke Britt, whose non-binding opinions said NDSP ought to release its records to the public.

“The State takes the legal position that transparency is needed in the exercise of police power in order to maintain the public’s trust,” Zoeller said in the release. “Disclosing that a possible crime occurred and conveying basic pertinent information helps inform and protect the public and creates more transparency and accountability within the criminal justice system.”

In October, ESPN reporter Paula Lavigne requested NDSP records, but was denied. In January, ESPN filed its initial lawsuit in St. Joseph Superior Court to obtain the records, and on April 20, a judge ruled in favor of Notre Dame. The Court of Appeals will rule on the case at a later date, according to the Attorney General’s press release.

University spokesperson Dennis Brown declined to comment Tuesday.

My god, can't you just die?

He has on numerous occasions and just regenerates new handles....

Unfortunately, he shows zero respect for Notre Dame men/legends with ties to FSU/FSU football.
Stan Wilcox
John Affleck-Graves
Lou Holtz... to name a few.

PS Plus, the remodel of ND stadium is a knock off of fsu's "Doak Campbell Stadium" footprint....
