Indiana Hoosiers

I don't understand why that field goal try can't be reviewed? It sure looked good! Even the commentators were discussing whether it was good.
The Hoosiers gave up a lot of long plays but it was a fun game to watch.

The explanation was that a FG can only be reviewed if it doesn't go over the cross bar. This was something I didn't know.

Like those posting above on the replay it looked good.

In other words, he kicked it too high?

It's ironic how wronged Duke felt after the Miami miracle/bad refereeing but they didn't think twice about celebrating this victory.

Truly heartbreaking!:p I'm sure Brian Davidson is somewhere crying into his Hulk Hogan mug filled with his mother's milk. So sad!

it was the correct call ball was not INSIDE the goal posts. Ball went directly over the top making it a missed fg

Duke wasn't mad at Miami for celebrating, they were mad at the refs for blowing the call.

Well I learn something new everyday. I thought if it went over the post it was good. So I guess it has to be inside the post.

If it goes directly over......no.way of knowing how the bounce will work out. So no.....can't review that

There is a ref right under the goal post. He is the only person who could tell if it was good or not. Review would have been a waste of time.

The view from directly behind the upright showed the ball going over the top of the upright. which means if it had been kicked lower it would have hit the upright. there is no way of telling if it would have bounced through or bounced away after impact. I believe that is why it is not reviewable. so if the official had called it good then that call would have had to stand.
