If you haven't seen the GTech score yet

Alcorn State was 10 and 3 last year and won the SWAC and they are supposed to be good again this year.
Alcorn State could beat Michigan.

Georgia Tech is the real deal. They killed Mississippi state in their bowl game last year.

Alcorn was decent in the FCS. They lost to the only D1 program on the schedule and no, they would not be able to beat Michigan. They couldn't even beat Southern Miss. Being good in the SWAC does not make them competitive against a very good D1 team. We can declare Georgia Tech as very good without using Alcorn as an example. Those two programs are not even in the same stratosphere. One is a decent FCS program and the other is an elite D1 program.

Michigan is not elite. Slow down on the Jack Daniels my friend.
Michigan isn't elite. I never said they were. I was comparing G Tech to Alcorn. The Jackets are elite. Alcorn is a decent FCS program and no extra credit should be given to G Tech for the lopsided win last night. And I do think that Michigan would beat Alcorn but that's just speculative and probably not even worth debating.

The Jackets and at Clemson are keeping me awake at night. They scare the hell out of me. I know and trust our lads feel differently. They want to bring it on.

This GTECH coach wants to rip BVG a new one - this is going to be a great effort from Tech.

Van Gorder has a tall order Don't know what the Van Gorder /Johnson spat is about ,but we struggle with Navy every year .Navy puts up big scores against us

Good Lawd!

I know it is a rent-a-win, but good golly, are they putting a clinic on tonight.

In 1977 we were down 7-6 to them.

Final 69-14....

We weren't running up tempo we just beat the ever living sh*** out of them....

That's a brand of ball I'd like to see again....

Georgia Tech is fun to watch when their offense is hitting on all cylinders. I have my doubts as to how well they could ever do in a playoff when an opposing athletic defense has two weeks to prepare.

"VanGorder had made some comments that he didn't think too highly of the offense, and Paul called me up and said, 'I need to talk to (athletics director) Sam (Baker) and get Georgia Southern on the schedule,'" Inman said. "I said, 'Why do you want to play us?' And he said, 'Because I want to beat the hell out of Brian VanGorder.' "

Yes, Appalachian State (ranked mid 40s by Sagarin) beat a Michigan team that beat a Notre Dame team 38-0. So if you two had played, Appy State would have most likely throttled the Irish.

Two can play this game. ND beat UCLA who beat Oregon who beat Michigan that year. Michigan lost to a D1AA program in Ann Arbor. ND lost big to Michigan. Anything beyond that is speculation.

"You know what we're gonna do.............now try and stop us." Paul Johnson

Last year 11+3 GT led FSU the entire game right up until the final seconds in a thriller. Good luck Irish. It's tough to come from behind against a team that plays ball control offense.

You do realize that Irish fans are familiar with Paul Johnson? Here's a fact that you might find interesting the Irish lead the GT series 27-6-1. Last time the Irish played GT was in 2007, though Johnson was still coaching Navy. GT first appeared on the Irish schedule in 1922 Should be an interesting game between the two on September 19. 2015.

.......and yes, GT thumped the Irish at home in 2007.

The most difficult game of the year...bar none. I suppose I should add "in my humble opinion" so as not to offend the board elite. I've been nervous about this game since Nov. 2014. Give me a spread, west coast, pro style offense any day of the week. Line up a disciplined, talented veer/midline offense with a capable QB that can hit receivers in play action and I'm running for the hills. Pull for ND and drink a Guinness every day until that game, but Hail Mary they (GT) scare me.

ND is well aware on how to beat FSU. I know your pushing G Tech but let's not get carried away. Last I checked, ND has players on scholarship also....and pretty good ones.

Great info. Alice and good to hear from you again. The GT of the past (BPJ before Paul Johnson) bears no resemblance to the GT of today. GT today is Navy on steroids and then some! It will be great for all the teams on GT's schedule to watch and see how they do in South Bend. FSU barely pulled out a squeaker at the ACCCG in Charlotte last year and has to travel to GT's home field in Atlanta this year. Shoot.........GT has a real shot at beating both Clemson and FSU this year and that would put them right back in Charlotte once again. Sure glad ND gets them first. The caliber of the teams in the ACC appears to be moving up a notch every year now..............just look at the bowl game results. Like I said.........good luck Irish. Try to take the lead early and fight to hold on to it. ;)

Factoid: Johnson was 1-5 vs ND when he was at Navy:

2002 ND 30–23 Balt
2003 ND 27-24 SB
2004 ND 27-9 East Rutherford
2005 ND 42-21 SB
2006 ND 38-14 Balt
2007 Navy 46-44 SB

One thing about it...........those Navy guys may be small but they're slow. Now imagine Johnson commanding the bigger and faster boys. 11 and 3 last year beating Miss. State (#1 in the nation mid season) in the Orange Bowl 49 to 34. Get the lead and hold on...........whoa Nelly!

We'd better score first and every time we have the ball. I watched most of that game and they were exactly what you'd expect.....A more athletic Navy team.

Yeah, Duo, ND and GT were playing each other before FSU was FSU.
I'm betting many an Irish fan watched the ACCCG last year. It's not like folks north of the Mason-Dixon live in a vacuum. I think most Irish fans know that GT could be very good this year. :)

I was at the 2003 game, Fitzpatrick kicked a forty yarder as the game ended for an Irish victory.

According to TKIrish in another thread:

"I like Kelly. He is a good coach. The question is whether or not he can make the Irish elite."

Regardless of who is "elite" and who isn't..............it's going to be a very good game to watch!

Take the lead and fight to keep it. Just don't get behind as it's super tough playing catch up with GT! Good luck.

Georgia Tech is one of the four losses ND will suffer this year
