I hope u are right . I saw the tape of the Georgia spring game very intense defense

I had several impressions. First, even though playing against the second string and having no pressure and wide open receivers, was impressed with Books performance and relieved to know we have a number two capable of coming in and winning games if Wimbush is hurt. Second, thought Kraemer had a really tough game, and more convinced than ever that he will be a great offensive guard, but a poor right tackle; and this needs to get corrected before the season starts. Third, thought D Hayes had an outstanding day and encouraged as hell that we may finally have a consistent skilled pass rusher. Fourth, thought the first string defensive backs played the pass very well, and Wimbush was constantly trying to thread passes into well covered receivers. Fourth, tranquil looks Taylor made for the Rover position in Elko's defense, and showed this with a couple excellent TFL yesterday. Lastly, thought the second string defense was way behind the second string offense, and the drop off from the first string defense was excessive and worrisome.

Good review...

I agree there were a lot of positives, even though it is a Spring game.

#1) I feel WAY better about the QB depth chart after seeing Book run the offense. I can see why Sanford recruited him. He's got some Kellen Moore (from BSU) traits and no fear.

#2) The D was getting pressure on what should be a very good OL.

#3) All of the WRs looked very good. Especially Boykin & Mack -- exactly the two that need to step up.

#4) The RBs should be a 3-headed monster as advertised.

#5) Other than Finke's muffed punt, there weren't many head-scratching sloppy plays that have haunted BK's teams.

I'm firmly in the "prove it to me in the Fall" camp, but I am optimistic that this team can compete against almost anyone this year.

I am wondering if our special teams are going to improve . Our kicking game ( excluding field goals) ,kicking offs in particular was plain bad .Many times opponents had good field positions against us .

I think we're over thinking the fifteenth practice of a new season. We've all seen heroes emerge during the spring game. I say let the cake continue to back and we'll see and taste the thing next September.

This - the kids will have 4 months to continue learning, developing, practicing, etc., and we have additional recruits that haven't come on campus yet. We had coaches playing pretty vanilla, we had players not wanting to lay out their teammates from a defensive perspective, etc. Enjoy the Spring game for what it was - a long, full contact practice.

I was on campus this morning. The tollway is one huge construction mess, including closed ramps. They better have that taken care of by Temple. Then, construction on campus is at a fever pitch. A major headache to the casual observer with all this construction, but, our labor force is working, which means food on the table and mortgage payments being met. And that's a good thing.

When they're done here they are heading straight down to Texas to build that dam wall!

Well we only dropped one fair catch in the blue gold game.

It's hard to say if Kraemer was struggling badly at RT or is Hayes just going to be that good ? If one aspect of our team does well it has a negative effect on the other side of the ball. IMO it's a major work in progress but the the new DC and LB coach will make a great difference on DEF. The offense needs to establish the run game and play action not throw the ball around the field like in the past . Going fast is great but not what this team needs . I do think the RZ offense will improve with the size of the WR's and Mack back.

A decade ago Junior Jabbie won BG MVP. That tells you all you need to know about what amounts to a staged final practice on TV.
