I record all ND games to watch over during the long off season

I keep the wins and delete the losses. I'm going to have nothing to watch this coming off season.

I have all the games from the games from the 60's to present lot's of 50's some 40's, and a game from 1938.

I keep them all though there are some I'll never watch (38 - 0) 2006 Michigan game.

There were some exciting loses I do rewatch

DIP, do you have the 2003 ND vs Navy game? My grandfather was a Navy man and a life long ND man. He passed on that day and I have been looking for a copy of the game.

I do, but on VHS. I have been trying to find the proper VHS DVR player ( it must be a high-quality one)

Let me go through my files tomorrow and get it out and see what I can do

I'm with the poet on this one. There are some great games among those past losses.

But a serious note, if you only watch replays of wins, you will come into every new season with a skewed view that will make you think we are better than we really are.

I think I manage to keep a level headed perspective. I think it's because I remember the losses so vividly. But you are correct there are some good plays/games in those losses.

I found it!

Thanks to pers for bringing the subject title back up.
I surely did drop the ball on that.

I have transferred 3 times in the past 5 years due to work advancements I left all the games at time in the crates that they were packed in.

It's in VHS form and I will have to either put it on a DVD or digitally transfer it.

If you're still interested let me know

Thanks pers

A DVD would be the best. This means a lot greatly appreciated. It's funny how a game can mean so much, I have always loved the ND-Navy games because of my grandfather.

Pers, thank you for your help in this matter.

hey, all I did was let you know you ran into one of the really good guys here, deadirishpoet; get gets your thanks! I hope you guys work out the exchange.

(DIP, maybe try uploading it to a media, then put the entire game in this thread? ... can that even be done?)

Lol I have come a long way with uploading, downloading, and editing on the computer but, at the moment transferring VCR to a digital file is beyond my skills.
I will watch it on YouTube to see how it's done.

I will get this to you ASAP.
I do understand your feelings. I have 12 brothers and sisters when my father passed away I received a watch that was made out of gold that he panned.
My mother had the gold made (1970) into a watch. The maker of a watch was not a Rolex, or, Patek Phillipe, but a quality watch maker none the less because to this day it still works and I received it.

It's in our nature to keep something. close that brings back a moment in time

It's my pleasure to do this for you. I will have this transferred to a DVD that much is pretty simple I'll get with you later on how to transfer this to you.

check out the uni's ....And that 2003 ND vs Navy game is nowhere to be found. Unusual.

well, you did actually upload the cassette! some of the posters probably have never seen one of those! they are probably stll clicking on it

Like I stated that's beyond my skills at this moment, plus I am spending a few days at my hunting lease here in Nebraska setting cameras checking the feeders
The current VCR player I have now will not let me do that I called a place called "Nebraska furnituremart"( if you never heard of it it's great place)... To find the latest VCR to DVD (which are very few and far between by the way)

I spoke to a Salesman there and I was supposed to be heading there this afternoon to see what he found out.

The good news is I will be able to get this recorded to DVD, but I would like to update all my tapes and discs to a digital format.

DIP any news on the transfer?

I am currently working out of town, but I believe with what I was able to put together with an old VCR with RCA jacks and tie them into a DVD recorder.
I'll let you know this weekend if it worked

First the picture is clear, but I haven't edit out the commercials after I get done recording if I have room on the disk would you like another game?

I view the DVD this morning for a bit, and it looked good. I will watch the whole game this evening if I get back early enough because I'm working in the field today, but looks like you're getting what you want

DIP, thank you! I cannot express how wonderful this is. A complete stranger helping me out is just amazing. This is greatly appreciated and thanks again!!!

Is no problem Lou like I said I will go over the whole game this evening and see if it's okay or if there's any glitches in it to where it needs to be recorded.
It's my pleasure to do this for you.

It's been a rough year with my friends / family and this means a lot. DIP you are a good one!!

The disk is good. A bit grainy on a big screen , but still good.

We'll need to talk about how to get this to you.
No personal information on the board

There are a lot of future NFL guys on this team.. Justin Tuck is a beast and Brady Quinn looks like a 15 yr old lol. With that many future NFL players you would think an NCAA run would of happened

I was really hoping coach Willingham was going to be successful, but obviously that did happen.
